Froststar, Willowwhisp, and the patrol arrived at the river. Badgerface rushed to greet him. "Your back! And good timing, we almost had an outbreak of anxiety in the elders. The river is mostly deep and going fast. It's a dangerous crossing, but there is a spot about 50 kit lengths from here where we could try to walk across on the stepping stones." Badgerface informed Froststar. "Take the kits and queens across first, then help the elders, and wounded." He ordered. "Yes Froststar." The deputy replied and began moving the cats to the stepping stones to cross. Froststar, and the other warriors grabbed kits and began to cross the stepping stones with the queens. About halfway across, a rock slipped out from beneath Bearface. Applekit fell from his grasp and into the raging river. "Applekit!" Sandflower exclaimed, almost dropping Lionkit. "Get to the shore! I'll rescue Applekit!" Bearface cried out to her. Bearface tried his best to swim out to where Applekit was clinging tight to a branch. He reached out to grab her when the branch broke. "Papa!" Applekit cried then dissapeared under the water. Bearface slammed into a rock falling unconscious. He drifted to the other side where Sandflower pulled him out. Willowwhisp ran to him and called out,"Breezepastel! Get cobwebs! Now!" Breezepastel ran to her with the cobwebs in her paw. Willowwhisp took them and pressed them against Bearface's head. "We need to find my kit!" Sandflower cried out and ran down the river to find Applekit. "I hope Applekit will be ok." Lionkit hopefully said. "Starclan let her be safe." Pinekit prayed fearing that his sister would not come back alive.
