Lionkit was staring deep into the minnow pool. For some reason there were no minnows. She padded off to find Wolfkit and Pinekit. She came to a stop when she bumped into Sandflower. "Watch it foxdung!" Sandflower hissed. "Sorry." Lionkit squeaked then ran off. She wondered if Sandflower would ever forgive her. She saw all the cats gathering by the stepping stones. "Was it time to leave?" Lionkit wondered. She saw Wolfkit, Icekit,Pinekit, Reedkit and Streamkit talking. She eagerly ran over to join them. "There you are Lionkit! We were about to go look for you." Pinekit said."You might, but I wouldnt." Icekit rudly remarked. "Shut up." Pinekit told her Icekit scratched his face then hissed," Watch it mousebrain or I'll take your eye out!" "Ow!" Pinekit mewed . "Guess what? We're finally going back!" Wolfkit exclaimed. "Look, it's Owlheart!" Wolfkit added. Owlheart carefully walked across the stepping stones, testing each rock before stepping on it. She got to the last stone. She would have to leap to the river bank because of the rock that loosened when they crossed the first time. Owlheart got down and then leaped to the other side. She landed halfway in, half way out. She pulled herself out of the river and shook the water from her fur. "Is it safe for us to get on over?" Deadtail asked Owlheart. "Yup. Go tell the others." Owlheart replied. "Come on over! The rivers safe!" Deadtail yowled. Beestripe, Redfoot, and Losteye crossed the stepping stones. Then Froststar yowled,"Queens and kits, please make your way to the stepping stones. We are ready to cross. "Yay!" Wolfkit exclaimed. "Finally." Icekit rolled her eyes. Dawnflower, Sandflower, Honeytail, and Creamfur grabbed Wolfkit, Pinekit, Lionkit, and Icekit by the scruffs. They padded across the stones. "So that's where the minnows went!" Lionkit mewed to the others while happily watching the school of fish. The queens jumped across the space between the stone and the bank. Dawnflower, Sandflower, and Creamfur made it safely across. Honeytail and Lionkit landed in the mud. "Ahh!" They exclaimed before landing, splattering mud everywhere. "Ha,Ha, Foxdung!" Sandflower sneered. Honeytail picked up Lionkit and walked out of the mud. She set her down then shook the mud from her fur. Lionkit looked at her reflection in the river and giggled. Wolfkit, and Pinekit looked and laughed too. "Ahh! It's the mud monster!" Wolfkit exclaimed then darted around the bank. "Lionkit chased him and meowed. "I'm gonna get you!" Then she pounced onto Wolfkit, getting mud all over him. "I am infected." Wolfkit mewed in a weird voice. "Pinekit, your next!" Lionkit yowled then she and Wolfkit began to chase him. Pinekit ran but was eventually cornered. Lionkit and Wolfkit leaped on top of him. " You are now one of us. Let's take over the clan!" Wolfkit said playfully. "C'mon kits, we're leaving! Unless you wanna be eaten by the crocadillys!" Deadtail smirked then walked off. "Crocadillys?" The kits asked. "They're like giant lizards with huge teeth, big mouths, and hecka tough hide! They'll eat ya up in one bite!" Deadtail happily exclaimed. Scaring kits was his passion. "Ahh!" They squealed then ran off to join the rest of the clan .
