It was sunhigh. Sandflower ran back to her clan carrying Applekit's limp body by the scruff. She gently placed her onto the ground and cried out,"She's dead! Applekit dead!" Lionkit, Wolfkit, and Pinekit ran to her and began to cry at the sight of Applekit body. "I-I'm so sorry!" Lionkit mournfully wailed. "You should be!" Sandflower snapped. "It's your fault she's dead! If I wasn't carrying you across, I could have helped her. But instead, I helped you and lost my own!" Sandflower angrily yelled at Lionkit then started crying again. Lionkit stood there silenced by grief and pain. " I heard about the fire and came as fast as I could. I hope your cats are alright." Icestar, the Riverclan leader said then saw Applekit's dead body. " It is a sad day when a kit dies. Come and let me know where to bury her after her vigil. Your warriors can rest here. I'll send a few warriors and Deerdapple back to bring food and herbs." She told them and darted back to camp.
