The Seven's Puppet Show [DROPPED]

Chapter 1

~Alice~

 I was running through the woods, not caring about the scratches that the branches of the plants and trees inflict on me. All I cared about was getting away from that thing. I’ve been running for what? Ten minutes? 30? An hour? I didn’t know. I completely lost my sense of time here. But I think that doesn’t matter anymore. The roars and screams of the thing slowly faded until it was completely gone. Relieved that the thing was gone, I sat at the foot of a tree beside me. I was breathless and tired. I had lost my bag while I was running away so I didn’t have any food or water here with me. Suddenly, there was a roar close behind me. Too close. I looked behind me and fear overcame me. With my last breath, I screamed. 

I woke up screaming while my classmates laughed at me. Professor Sined was glaring at me. Behind him, the blackboard was full of numbers and equations I don't understand. To my left, my best friend Lucy was looking at me. I was too obvious that she was trying to hold her laugh.

"Had a sweet nightmare, Miss Alice?" Professor Sined said. More laughter from my very supportive classmates. 

On cue, the bell rang. Professor Sined left the room but not before dropping a large folder on my desk. "Homework. Just for you." I clenched my fist under my desk so no one could see it. I grabbed the folder and held it with one hand, pressing it against my chest for added support.  I exit the room with Lucy behind me, laughing her head out.

I ignored her until I reached my locker where I shoved the "homework" Professor Sined gave me. Miraculously, Lucy was still laughing. I waited for her to stop laughing and she did, about 5 minutes later. 

"So, are you done?" I said.

"Not quite." Lucy said and laughed again. Seriously, I don't know what to say about this girl.

"Fine, you can laugh all you want there." I said and left Lucy, still laughing. It was lunch break and most of the students are in the cafeteria but I don't usually eat lunch so I have no purpose there. Instead, I go to a nearby cliff the overlooks the whole town. 

Normally, students were forbidden to leave the campus grounds during class unless they're permitted to but some time ago, i found a secret path in the woods that leads to the cliff. Since then,  the cliff had become my special place.

I told Lucy about this place since I discovered it. Since Lucy was also the type who doesn't eat lunch often, she always accompanied me here. But since she was so busy laughing, I was all alone. 

I felt safe and sound as soon as I felt the cool breeze that was always present at the cliff. The town where I lived in since the day I was born. It was only a small town, only about 1/3 of the nearest city but I liked it that way. 

I flinched as I heard a twig snapped behind me. I turned around to take a look but found no one. Must be the wind, I thought. But a simple breeze like this can't break a twig right? 

"I didn't expect someone, especially you, to be hiding here." Someone said. A boy. I was so startled that I punched him in his gut with all my might. He stumbled and tripped and fell butt first on the ground. Only then was I able to recognize him. Ace.

"For a girl, you're pretty tough." Ace said, giving me a thumbs up. He was wincing every time he made a single move so it was pretty hard (and idiotic) to give me a thumbs up. 

Ace was my classmate, but I barely notice him. My first impression of him; there's something seriously wrong with his face. Something that I couldn't quite put a finger at and it annoyed me. Ace was always surrounded with his friends whose voice was always dominant. At the rare occasion that I do eat lunch, their voices is what I only hear. They're that noisy.

"Why aren't surrounded by your minions?" I asked. 

Ace laughed. He wasn't wincing as much as he did a minute ago. "Minions?"

"Yes, your minions. Your noisy little bunch." 

"Alice, they're not my minions." He said. "They're my friends."

"Nice friends you have." I said, rolling my eyes. "So why aren't you with them?"

"Oh, I want to try not being with them, for achange." He said. 

I just stared at him. 

"I mean, I've been with them for, like, every second of my life—" He started.

"You're exaggerating." I interrupted.

"Probably, but you know my point. I just want to know what it's like with them not around. How it is like to be alone or with someone new." He continued.

"Ace." I said, sitting beside him on the lush green grass. I picked up a flower beside me and pointed it at Ace. "You have such a small world."

“W-Wha—“

"A world, as small as this town. But it's not your fault. And it's a good thing that you're trying to widen it." I said. I plucked the flower's petals one by one until nothing remained. "So, putting how small your world is aside, how did you find this place?"

"I followed you." Ace said straightforwardly. I was surprised how blunt Ace was and how he answers my questions honestly. 

"What?" I said. 

"I was walking outside the school buildings and I saw a figure go this way, so I followed it. I thought it was a thief or a student sneaking away from school." 

"Did anyone see you?" I asked. I was worried. If another person discovered this place, my sanctuary will be gone. Just like that.

"Nah, I don't think so."

"Good Good." I sighed. I felt like a ton of bricks was lifted off my shoulders. "Hey, don't tell anyone about this place, okay?"

"Why?" Ace said, bewildered. "Isn't it better if other people know about this place?"

"NO!" I yelled at Ace. "No."

"Okay, I won't tell anyone about this place. Not a person & not a word." Ace assured me. 

"Thank you." I smiled.

Okay, that took me a loooong time xD anyways, i'm so lazy nowadays and so busy(?)

Anyways, here's chapter 1 ^_^ 

I know that it's too short >_<
