~Lucy~

I stood for quite a while in outside our front door with my hand curved on it's knob. Behind the door, I could hear two people shouting. I didn't bother to listen closely so I could know what they're shouting at. It's not worth my time.

I turned the knob and swung the door open. My sister, Layla, came running towards me. She hugged me tightly as wept silently at my clothes. I patted her head to comfort her.

"Nee-chan," She looked up to me. Her eyes were red and puffy. "Why is mama and papa shouting at each other? I'm scared." Poor Layla. She's only 7. She isn't supposed to be crying like that. She's supposed to be outside, playing with her friends, laughing and smiling.

I patted her head more. "Don't worry. Nee-chan's here for you. You don't have to be scared. Just ignore them. Everything will be alright." I tried my best to convince her but I myself wasn't convinced.

"But--"

"Shh..." I hushed. "Everything will be alright."

Layla sniffed and nodded. As she wiped her tears, my older brother, Lance, came into view. As soon as our eyes met, I glared at him and bared my teeth. Lance and I don't really get along. Well, we used to, but that was years ago, before... before... eh? Why can't I seem to remember?

"Heh, you still continue that nonsense of yours?" He smirked. "Pathetic."

I bit my lip and clenched my fist, trying to hide my anger. But Lance noticed it anyway. Why did I even bother to hide it?

"What? You're gonna punch me?" He laughed. "I'd like to see you try."

Lucy, calm down. Don't let him get into your nerves. Don't let him defeat you. It's alright, it's alright.

"Heh, you can't?" He laughed.

I shot him a glare. "I didn't say anything."

"Eh, so you do have guts. I didn't expect you to have one."

One more.

"But," Lance grinned. "You can never do anything."

No more. I gulped. Layla was still crying in my arms. I bent my head and whispered to her; "Layla, go to your room." Layla didn't need to be told twice, she stood up and wiped her remaining tears.

"I'll wait for you, nee-chan." She said. I nodded. When I was quite sure that Layla was already in her room, I stood up and walked towards Lance. Lance was only grinning when he saw me. My eyes gazed at his throat. It sure is lovely, if I could slash it, then a fountain of blood will pour out of it. Ehe.

Lance looked amused. "Eh, what are you gonna do?"

"THIS." I felt my mouth twist into a grin then everything went black.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* >:)

"LUCY!" I hear someone calling out loud. "LUCY! ARE YOU IN THERE LUCY?" Eh? That voice... I know that voice.

"LUCY!" Lance shouted. I was on top of him and I was gripping his wrist, hard. It smelt like burnt flesh. Then I realized to my horror that Lance's wrist was burned, at the exact spot where I held him. I looked at my hands. They were fine. I gasped.

"Lucy, you..." For the first time, I noticed Lance's facial expression. His eyes were hard and filled with horror and disbelief. His eyebrows were almost meeting with each other. And his mouth was open with shock. "Wha-How?"

I felt like I was paralyzed. I couldn't move my feet or open my mouth. I just sat there motionless on top of Lance with my hands shaking.

Lance sat up, pushing me aside. "Lucy..." His voice was trembling. He grabbed my shoulders. Even  his hands were trembling. "Why?" He said with a tired voice.

Now, I was scared. I didn't know what to say. I've never seen Lance act this way. He was always cocky and mean around me. He never trembled or even show signs of fear. The Lance now was scarier than the Lance before.

"Wha-What do you mean?" I finally said but my voice merely came out as a whisper.

Lance's eyes widened as the lady on a sailor uniform entered. "Lance! It's nice to see you again." Superbia chuckled. She scanned him and Lucy with amusement on her eyes. She licked her lips and said: "That was a nice show, you two."
