Chapter 4

It was about 11:30 p.m by the time Thomas went home. He made me promise to not go anywhere or try anything to find Eric by myself. I agreed. I curled into bed and tried to get some rest.

I heard a knock on the door. I wiped my eyes to look at the time. 3:30 a.m. Who in the world would come over at this time? Maybe it was Eric. I had to have some hope that he would come home safely. I ran over to the door and opened it slowly. "Hey sorry to bother you Lauren but I was just wondering if I could stay over the night?My parents are out of town for two weeks and Hailey and I are taking a break so I don't really want to be by myself. So is that okay?" Colton asked in a innocent voice. "Of course. Come on in." "Thank you it means a lot." He came in and shut the door behind him. "So not trying to sound rude or anything because you are always welcome here but why didn't you go to one of the guy's houses instead?" I asked making him some tea because he looked like he was worried about something. "Oh I was going to but then I still don't feel comfortable with you being here all by yourself. So might as well come stay here with you so neither of us are alone." That was really nice of him. "Thank you. So what happened with you and Hailey?" I asked giving him a cup of Lipton tea. "Oh it's just complicated." "I'm a good listener." "Well she actually was the one to end it. She said we needed to see other people cause she was developing feelings for someone else and I think I am too." "Wow Colt I am so sorry. So who is the mystery girl you have your eye on?" "That's not important. I'm a little tired can we please talk more tomorrow?" he said taking off his coat. "Sure if you don't want to sleep on the couch, you can sleep in the guest room or Eric's room." "Okay. Thanks again." "No problem. Goodnight I said walking to my room and shutting the door.

As I was about to fall asleep yet again, I heard my door open and shut. I turned on the lamp on my side to look over. "What's wrong Colton?" I asked sitting up. "I can't sleep. I keep thinking about Eric and I'm scared." "I'm scared too. I know who took him or knows where he is." "You do?Why didn't you call me?Who is it?" he said sitting at the edge of my bed. I told him everything I knew and what happened yesterday with Thomas and I. "Next time you go there, I'm coming too. I have to tell the other guys too so odds are we are all going." "Okay that's fine." He didn't look like he wanted to move so I put the offer I think he was waiting for out there. "If it will make you feel more comfortable you can sleep in here with me of you want." "Okay if you insist." I can tell he was happy that I finally asked him. He went on the bed and curled up beside me. "Goodnight Lauren." "Goodnight." We both fell asleep around 4:30.

I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. I looked over at the clock. 10:30 it read. Colton wasn't in bed anymore so I figured it was him out there. I got dressed into just jeans and a pink shirt with Uggs. I brushed my hair to at least look presentable and walked out to the kitchen. "Good morning beautiful" Colton said setting the table. "Morning.What is all this?" I asked sitting down. "Well since you were nice enough to let me stay here I thought the least I can do is make you breakfast." "Thank you. I appreciate it." "No problem but it's not going to be just us if that's okay." "Of course that's alright with me." I heard a knock on the door. "Hello everyone the party is here" Anthony said opening the door with a friendly smile. Joey and Thomas were behind him. "Brought the whole crew or what?" I asked Colton joking. "Yep." We all sat down and ate while Colton told Anthony and Joey what happened about the 5SOS situation. "Oh hell no" Joey said looking a little angry. "I should of known" Anthony said. "So what are we going to do about this captain?" Thomas said looking towards me. Everyone else did too. "Well I think we should all go down there with the police and get them to admit where Eric is so we can finally bring him home." "Good thinking. Maybe if we all go down there we will scare them enough to drop the innocent act" Joey added. "Yeah I could tell Calum looked a little scared of Thomas." "They should be." We all finished our breakfast, went to go tell the police our theory and worked our way to Capital Records. I knew these guys for a long time and they were such sweethearts. They never liked to fight. But we were a family. And they desperately wanted Eric back so we were willing to do what ever it took to get him. Midnight Red vs. 5SOS. The war has already begun.
