Love Conquers All (GERARD WAY X READER)

Chapter 17

Gerard and I sat on the couch, messing with Bandit and making small talk with everyone else in the room so it wouldn't be so silent. I began to let my mind drift to the fact that I would be married in only 1 month, and of course that caused me to smile.

Why wouldn't it, considering I'm marrying the man who I've loved since I was like what, 8? I mean of course as kids you never know for sure if it's love, or if it's just a cute child crush, so really I didn't know I liked him in a romantic way until I was about 14...

I was so zoned out that I didn't even notice that Gerard's mom had come into the room with us until I saw the flash of a camera in my face, and heard everyone crowd around her to see the photo.

She watched the photo dispense from the bottom of the Polaroid camera, shook it aggressively a few times, then showed everyone who had crowded around her.

Gerard still sat next to me and looked about as shocked as I did about the fact that we had just had a photo taken of us with Bandit. But Bandit wasn't shocked, she was a bit too distracted trying to pull Gerard's nose off his face. Or at least that's what it looked like.

I heard quick footsteps walk over to me, and looked up to see Jaden standing there, holding the photo and trying to show me and Gerard. When he and I both came out of our shocked state, we looked at the photo and smiled.

In the photo, I was staring at Gerard while he looked at Bandit and she held her hand out to him. I had the largest smile on my face, and the happiest look in my eyes, as did Gerard.

He looked from the photo, to Bandit, and then to me. He looked so much happier than he used to, and that made me feel so much more love for him. The bags under his eyes were less visible, his smile was much wider and real looking, and he would no longer hurt himself.

It's insane to think that in this short amount of time hes overcome so much... We all have. Mikey is so much happier to spend time with his brother, Im happy to have Gerard back, Frank and Jaden are happy to be around people who actually care about them, and even Ray is happier because he's managed to make 'so many great friend's' as he told us all last week.

I looked around at everyone and smiled widely, tears beginning to spill from my eyes. I had a family... A real one. And everything was finally going to be okay. Nothing could tear us apart...
