When we got back to our room it was almost 10PM, the events of the day had worn me out, but Chris seemed as perky as ever.

He suddenly gasped, "Is that a dolphin?" he said staring out of the window.

I took my eyes off the list with the On Demand films, but I could not see anything from where I was, so I stood up from the sofa and walked to him.

"Is it? Is it Jay?" he asked voice full of astonished innocence.

"I don't think so babe," I said after vigilantly looking at the sea surface for a while searching for any sign of movement.

His face fell, "but I think I saw a flipper over there, it did look like one," he said, still looking out for the elusive animal.

"I don't see anything," I admitted.

"But there are dolphins in Hawaii, I've read about it!"

"Yes, there are, but I can't see any now," I told him rubbing his back.

"You can even swim with them!"

"Yes, but that's not good for them, it stresses the poor little fellows," I told him.

 "Oh," he was crestfallen.

"Sorry," I said planting a kiss on his ear. He was so lovely; I adored him so much and at that moment I fell in love with him again. My anger about Rihanna had been left behind and forgotten.

His face brightened in a second in a display of his typical mood swings "So have you chosen a movie for us to see, yet?"

"No," I laughed and walked back to the sofa, Chris in tow. "How about one of these ones?" I asked.

"No, those are a bit silly," he said.

"They're not!"

"But I don't like them!"

"Mission Impossible?"

"Yes! That one!" He exclaimed getting comfortable next to me.

No sooner had I pressed play than Chris' phone started ringing. He looked at me with apologetic eyes and answered. I paused the film and just sat there wondering who the hell it was at this time.

"Hello?" he said and his mouth broke into a smile, "No, it's ok. Don't worry about it," I shot him a look and saw his face become serious again, I worried. "Really?.........Oh for fu...... The Sun? Those fuckers!................ No, it's ok.....yeah......it's ok, don't worry, really.....thank you so much for letting me know......Yeah, yeah......," his laugh resonated around the room and I eyed him curiously, "It was awesome! ....No, you were great really, did not fall so much, you should have seen me when I started learning," he laughed again. "Really, you did a great job....YES! It was massive! I thought you were gonna lose your balance but you didn't! That was amazing!".. .....Well, not so much," he said and laughed in that nervous way he does when he's being complemented, I counted to ten, I knew who it was and I could not believe this was happening, hadn't they had all afternoon together?

"Yeah, no, quite busy actually. Yeah, I don't know, really. Yes, don't worry, we should be used to this by now, but it's always a pain....Exactly!" he chuckled.  My knee had started bouncing in anxiety, almost of its own accord, my stomach twisted. I needed air. It had happened. Again! Evidently I was not needed here anymore, so I stood up and went to the bathroom, not even glancing at him.  If I had expected him to drop his phone and come after me, I would have been immensely disappointed, for their conversation continued as if nothing else really mattered.

I sighed, twisted my neck and stretched my arms in an attempt to release some tension. I willed my mind to go back to a few hours back when we had leaned against this very surface snogging like a pair of teenagers. I did not know what to do, then I remembered he mentioned The Sun, so my inquisitive and utterly curious mind drove me to get my phone and pay the site a visit. Tapping as quickly as my anxious fingers would let me, I soon was presented with an article about "Chris Martin and Rihanna, surfing in Hawaii." My stomach turned into knots, my heart sank. The obviously sensationalist tabloid suggested their meeting had had a romantic undertone to it. I was swallowed in misery, I trusted Chris, I believed he had not done anything with her, but people did not know.  I was left being the bloody fool. Every word was a dagger.
