Alas, my friends, we have reached the end.

"A bracelet?" Ward asked two days later when they were back at the base.

Skye laughed as she walked through the lab and towards the lounge. She patted Ward's arm as she walked past him and whispered in his ear. "Come on, you'll look super tough."

Fitz held the chain link bracelet out to him. "Just put it on."

Ward took it and placed it on his wrist, letting it loosely hang by his wrist.

Fitz nodded, "now undo the clasp and flick it."

Ward undid the clasp and held out the short chain, flicking it in the opposite direction of Fitz. The chain grew and soon lit up in flames. Ward grinned. "Fitz, you're amazing. How did you do this?" Fitz smiled and began to open his mouth to speak but Ward held up a hand. "Actually, you'll lose me after about two sentences, so never mind, but it's amazing, Fitz, thank you."

Fitz shrugged, "it's no big deal, but we should probably head to the lounge."

Ward nodded in agreement, and the two made their way towards the lounge where the rest of the team was pouring drinks into shot glasses.

Ward sat on the couch next to Skye and realized that they were here to drink to Lincoln, finally having the chance to mourn their fallen friend.

Katrina accepted the shot glass from Trip and gave him a small smile. Katrina was terrified at the thought of losing someone important to her again, but when she looked around the room and saw everyone else in mourning, she knew she would eventually be okay again. Lincoln helped her accept this family and now it was her turn to do something for him and let others help her heal. It was what he would have wanted.

Skye waited until everyone had a drink and she cleared her throat. "Lincoln wasn't on the team for very long, but he quickly became a valued member, and even better, a friend. He always knew what to say to make you smile." She looked around the room and then looked down at her feet. "We've lost a lot this year. We've learned a lot," she thought to the new discoveries with the Inhumans. "We've laughed, we've cried, but we've also gained a lot," she looked at Ward, Trip, and Katrina. She raised her glass in the air. "To new beginnings?"

Ward grabbed her hand in comfort and Skye shot him a grateful smile. She laced their fingers together as they locked eyes and Ward nodded, not breaking eye contact. "To new beginnings."
