After a few minutes, we finally caught sight of my house and I almost sighed in relief.
After Adrian stopped tons of times to ask me where to go, refusing to let me lead after I offered to just go ahead of him to show the way.
He absolutely refused to let go of my hand after the talk we had.
After a while, I got used to it, actually liking the fact that he seemed to care for me and that he made me feel safe even by just holding my hand in his.
So I willingly let him drag me even though it took more time but he seemed to want to waste time actually.
We slowly walked through my front lawn, after he insisted on walking me to the door, and when I was just a foot away from the wooden door, I turned to him, shyly glancing at my feet.
"Thanks for walking me home."
"It was no problem." He didn't hesitate in answering, his piercing blue eyes trained intently on me.
We stared at each other for a minute before I hurriedly muttered a goodbye and turned to the door, ready to yank it open and throw myself in.
"Wait."
A hand gently wrapped around my upper arm and I was spun around to face him.
My face flamed red when he leaned in, planting a small kiss onto my forehead before he hesitantly let me go, my heart thumping in my chest like some wild creature who had way too much sugar.
Wha-?
I took a step back and brought a hand to my forehead.
He just...
"Be safe." He mumbled before sparing me one last glance as he left, leaving me standing there with my mouth slightly hanging open.
"Raine?" A voice called out, snapping me from my daze.
She stood next to me, her face a picture of confusion and concern mixed together. It seemed like she had been trying to get my attention for a while now.
I bit my lower lip, rushing inside and shutting the door behind me almost too desperately.
"What were you doing outside?" She asked, clearly worried as she locked the door with a small silver key.
It was something she's done since I came to live here and I knew why....
"Nothing. I just needed some air." I lied as I stumbled up the stairs, almost tripping halfway but I caught the rail just before I could face plant the steps that seemed to be against me today.
