He liked me.
No matter how many times I have repeated those words in my head over and over again, I could never seem to come to an understanding.
Why did he like me?
What did he like about me?
But what completely turned my whole world around was the fact that I, looking deep in my heart, have made a realization, a realization that has all the rules I have ever made going down the drain.
I liked him back.
So here I was... In school and trying to blend in with the shadows as I did all I could to avoid him, the dark and very mysterious yet godly man with the name of Adrian.
Just the thought of his name had shivers running down my back. And they weren't out of disgust.
The lunch tray that I was clutching shook slightly as I squeezed through the crowd, my hood up in an effort to hide my hair both from Adrian and everyone else seeing that my protector from being bullied isn't with me at the moment.
This was an opportunity for them to beat me half to death.
The crowd suddenly turned deadly silent and I resisted the urge to cringe when he walked in the cafeteria. I didn't even need to see him anymore to know he was there.
And he was looking for me. I could feel it from how tense the crowd was and how he scanned the crowd with narrowed eyes, back straight as if ready to tackle anyone that stood in his way.
He's been trying to get near me since this morning but I avoided him like the plague, even moving seats away from where I would usually stay which was right beside him.
He was obviously ticked off with my attempts to stay away from him and he looked about ready to explode but I just couldn't face him.
And even of there was that attraction... the feeling that I just belongted right there in his arms, it was better this way.
I would live life normally and he wouldn't have to put up with a hopeless case.
With a small sigh, I slowly crept through the crowd, making sure that Adrian wouldn't see me moving, and when I finally escaped the cramped space, made a run for the doors that led to the background, planning to take my lunch at the empty field.
I'll just avoid him and he'll forget me.
I was always meant to be forgotten anyways.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My eyes scanned the empty school parking lot and I breathed out, struggling to just keep upright and not fall face first into the ground.
I was beyond exhausted from running around and hiding behind doors just to make sure he couldn't find me.
He was in a horrible mood for the whole day and he actually got into a fight with some guy in the hallway, ready to just rip him to shreds if the principal wasn't there to interrupt.
