Shortcake // Tsukishima x Reader // Requested

Tsukishima Kei.
The tall middle blocker of Karasuno. Now you could remember his name. You accidentally bumped into him at the entrance of the gym two days before but only then you remembered about the notebook, which showed his name on the front, falling on the floor from his half-open bag.
A peculiar notebook with some dinosaurs on its cover.

So when you saw him at the training camp in your school, Nekoma, you couldn't believe your eyes.

"Oi, [Name]-chan" a flirtatious boy's voice broke the flow of your thoughts.
"Ohayo, cat bro" you replied.
It was Kuroo, the captain of the volleyball team in your school.
He was your best friend along with Kenma and you found out that he spent time training with that Karasuno middle blocker after the regular training.

So you decided to take a chance.
"Bro" you began " do you know any good middle blockers?".

His eyes went narrow for a bunch of seconds and he looked very focused as you could see by his hand touching his chin while the other one was playing with his bed-hair.
"Mmmmh" he said "Nope". You saw Lev sneezing a bit further.

"Any really tall middle blocker?" you inquired.
Lev was now looking at you with sparkling eyes.
"Mmmh" Kuroo hummed again.

"Any blonde middle blocker with glasses?"
Lev's smile disappeared and he hopelessly walked away.
"Let me think about it" he said.
You grabbed his shoulders and directly asked: "Bro, do you know Tsukishima Kei perhaps?".
"You're so dumb, captain" Kenma apathically said while playing a video game sitting next to you.
"Aaaaaw" he chuckled then "that one player. Why are you asking me?"
Kenma facepalmed.

*The following day*

"Oi, does anybody know who left this here?" Daichi asked, as he saw it on the bench of the gym Karasuno had been assigned to.

"What's that? Looks like it's for Tsukki" Yamaguchi said.

"Hmmm... looks like... a bento box?! Ne, Tsukki, does your mom send you your lunch even though you're in Tokyo? You shitty boy " Tanaka mocked him though showing some envy towards the tall blond who was entering the gym in that very moment.

"What are you all talking about?" he simply inquired taking his headphones off.
Then he took the bento box and the note that was with it. It was a folded piece of paper and the name Tsukishima Kei was written on it.

"What's that?" Yamaguchi asked.
"Shut up" the blond scoffed.
"Gomen, Tsukki" was the sheepish reply.

There were just a few words written on the inside of that piece of paper.

Be my middle blocker and I will be your libero.

"It's a girlish handwriting" Tsukishima commented.

"But who on earth would fall for such a scary person?" Kageyama inquired with a dreadful expression depicted onto his face.
As Hinata started laughing, Kageyama thundered: "HINATA, BOKE!".

"You mean... That female libero?!" Nishinoya let out in a squeaky voice.
"The Karasuno female libero? NO WAY!" Tanaka exclaimed.

"Anyway, what's in that bento box?" Sugawara asked.
As Tsukishima opened it, he found a really delicious looking slice of shortcake, his favourite dessert.

After the training session, Tsukishima went into the other gym to see the female team of Karasuno and Nekoma were practicing together.
You were wearing your Nekoma training attire. Since you were the libero, your t-shirt was white instead of red.

At some point you saw him. Tsukishima Kei was entering the gym with the bento box you had prepared especially for him. Your heart had a jump in your chest and you missed a receive you wouldn't have got wrong in a normal situation.

You spotted him approaching the Karasuno female libero, in her orange t-shirt. You had to admit that she looked way better than you and had a sigh at this thought.
You saw them talking. You couldn't obviously get what they were saying, but you clearly saw her shaking her head with an awkward smile.

After that, he noticed that someone was looking at him. As he looked your way, your eyes met his.

*Later*

As you got out with your sports bag after practice, you had a sigh which created a little cloud of vapour in the cold air of the evening.

You were walking when you heard a voice calling you: "Are you the Nekoma girls libero?".
"Yes..." you replied.
"The shortcake... uhm... Thank you. It was delicious. How did you know it's my favourite?" he said while looking away and adjusting his glasses.
"Th-thank you" you stuttered as you felt your face burning "Kuroo told me".

There was some silence.
After that, you spoke: "Uhm... I'm sorry! I mean... for the note. Maybe it was too..."
"Do you regret writing it?" he asked, interrupting you.

Then he went on, as he saw that you were no longer speaking: "Listen... I asked her first because my teammates told me to... I didn't know how to deal with this. What I'm trying to tell you is... I'd like to get to know you better".
