Chapter 6

"Why did you marry her, Harry?" I asked as I slumped down next to him on the hard wooden floor.

"I thought she could fill the emptiness I felt. Turns out, she just helped with alcohol. Almost turned me into an alcoholic."

I sighed softly, wanting to ask a question I kind of dreaded. "Would..she be sad if you left?"

He looked down at me, wearing a shocked expression. I quickly bit my lip, looking away from his stare.

"Why would you ask that?" He whispered, making me have to blink back tears. "You don't want me to..."

"No!" I quickly protested. "I was just wondering."

He didn't respond. Instead, he just kept staring at me.

"I would."

My head snapped up as our eyes met. "You would...what?"

"I would leave her. She wouldn't really care. I just don't want Darcy and Rosie to not have her real mother." He shrugged his broad shoulders.

"I didn't want Edward to grow up without his dad." I whispered, looking back up to him. "But now he has one."

Harry slowly peered down at me. I wanted to look away, but I couldn't. He let out a shaky breath, slightly shaking his head.

Suddenly, his nose brushed against mine. The next thing I knew...it was gone.

I gasped softly, opening my eyes to find him staring down athis feet, shaking his head softly. "I can't."

I looked away, embarrassment coursingthrough my veins and painting my cheeks red.

"I'm sorry."

"I still...still love you, Rosie." He murmured, peering over at me through his curls.

I sighed, looking up at him with glossy eyes. "I know."

Before he could speak again, I shot up to my feet, wiping my tears away. "Sorry." I mumbled when I ran into Louis.

He looked back at me with a confused
face before looking at Harry. Louis subtly kneeled beside him.

"You better be careful, Haz. If Sarah finds out about how you feel, she'll have your head on the wall."

He looked up at his friend, smirking slightly. "I always have a plan, Lou."
