"I guess...I'm afraid." I admitted to Liam. "I don't want Harry to leave. I'm tired of pain."
"I don't think you realize how much he wants to stay."
I slowly shook my head, glancing into the living room where he sat with Edward, watching TV.
"He has a wife and a kid, Liam. He's happy. I'm getting in the way of that." I mumbled, turning away from him as I continued to put groceries in the fridge.
"No, he's not. You should really meet his wife. Then you'd see."
I glanced up at him with raised eyebrows. I looked back at Harry who, to surprise, was looking right back at me.
He picked up Edward, giving him a piggyback ride as he walked over to us.
"What's going on?"
I looked up at Liam, giving him a look. I didn't want Harry to feel like I had to meet his wife or anything. But of course, daddy Payne ignored me.
"I was telling Rose that it might be a good idea if she meets Sarah."
Harry's eyes widened slightly as Edward sent his chin on top of his mop of curls.
"Um...yeah. Yeah, I guess that would be nice." He stuttered out after a moment of silence.
"Mommy, who's Sarah?" Edward asked me, making me stare up into his big eyes.
"That's daddy's wife, sweetheart."
"Could get used to you calling me that." Harry spoke cheekily.
I shot him a glare as he laughed, showing off his adorable dimples. I was so happy when Edward's appeared.
"Lets meet Sarah!" The little boy cheered.
I smiled at him, taking him from Harry's back to hold him on my hip. I looked up at the curly haired man in front of me.
"Let's." He murmured, making me quickly break our stare.
I dressed Edward in a blue shirt with sharks on it, paired with white shorts and black sneakers.
I held his hand as we walked to Harry's house. Liam held his other hand, allowing Edward to swing in between us.
"Niall and Louis are already there." Harry muttered, walking past us.
"Isn't he just a peach?" I asked Liam sarcastically, earning a chuckle.
"Heard that." Harry called, flipping us off.
I quickly covered Edward's eyes. "Child!" I called out, causing his hand to shoot back down to his side.
I pulled my hand away as we walked up the driveway. I pulled my bottom lip in between my teeth, staring up at the huge house.
Harry pulled my lip out of my mouth with his thumb. He stared down at me with intense eyes. I breathed in sharply as he turned back towards the door.
He walked inside first, calling out for his wife. Darcy ran over to him, jumping in his arms.
Niall and Louis came around the corner with smiles.
"Hey little dude!" Niall greeted Edward, messing up his hair.
"Babe, who's there?" I mentally cringed as I heard a high pitched voice call out.
Heels clicked on the wooden floors as a women with short brown hair walked over to us. She had brown eyes and a small mole just above her red painted lips.
She wore a tight black dress with two big bracelets and a heavy gold necklace. Her red heels were at least six inches high.
Don't judge a book by its cover, Rose.
"Hello, I'm Rose." I smiled at her, handing Darcy over to Louis.
His face scrunched up in disgust as he looked down at the tiny human. He immediately shoved it towards Liam who rolled his eyes.
"It's sticky!" Louis protested.
"I'm Sarah." The woman spoke slowly, turning towards Harry. "Who is she?"
"An old friend." He simply answered.
"You look very lovely." I spoke softly.
She smiled while bringing a hand up to her chest. "Why, thank you!" She glanced back over at Harry. "I like her already."
"After I had Edward, my hips grew bigger and such. But you look perfect." I complimented her.
"Well duh!" She explained, walking over to a small bar in the kitchen to pour herself a glass of red wine. "I didn't carry her."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were unable to."
"Oh honey," She took a long sip. "I'm fully capable of carrying children. I just didn't want to ruin my body."
I was taken aback by this. Who does that?
"Just between us," She whispered to me, covering the side of her face with her free hand. "I never wanted kids. They're nasty little creatures. But, Harry kept begging for one. Couldn't say no."
Sarah chuckled, taking small sips of her wine. I forcefully laughed along with her.
"Yes, well...this is my son, Edward." He waved awkwardly from behind Liam's legs.
She just gave him a single nod before motioning to Darcy.
"That's my daughter."
I glanced back at the bar in their house. Clearly, she had a drinking problem considering all the empty bottles of wine strewn about.
"What is her name, again?" I challenged her, making her freeze with her glass pressed to her lips. She slowly lowered it.
"Dorothy."
"Darcy." Harry firmly corrected her. She only nodded at him.
"I know I may seem like a horrible mum." She whispered to me. "But like I said before, I never wanted to be a mother. Never will want to, I guess."
I quickly walked away from her, walking right into Liam's arms. I whispered into his chest, hoping he could hear me.
"She's awful."
"Bloody awful."
"I can see now why Harry is spending so much time at my house."
"That's not why." I peered up at Liam through my lashes. "It's because he wants to stay with you, Rose. He doesn't want to leave you or Edward."
"I'm afraid...I don't want him to leave either."
