It’s the 6th of May and sadly, nothing much has happened. I’ve been busy with school, Niall have been just as busy and whenever we get some time off, we don’t spend it together anymore. He goes out to the bar and I hang around at home, doing stuff that needs to be done. Oh and we now have a permanent addition to the flat, Coco. We couldn’t find her owner, atleast that’s what Niall says, so we kept her.

And these last 4 months, Niall and I haven’t talked much about what I told him. But I haven’t slept with him either so I think he’s pretty aware of that I was serious. If we are going to sleep together, it will be as girlfriend/boyfriend, and I'm sticking to that.

This morning, I got dressed in a Shanna tartan dress with a white collar, a pair of knee long socks from Topshop, a pair of pull & bear cut out ankle boots and a Sperry top-sider clutch. I curled my hair a bit and put on some mascara and lipgloss. I didn’t like to go over the top with my makeup.

As I got out of my bedroom, Niall was in the livingroom and he looked over at me.

Niall: I thought you had stopped wearing those dresses.
Stella: Why?
Niall: You haven’t worn one in ages.
Stella: Because it’s been winter. Snow and dresses doesn’t really go together well.
Niall: Okay.

I went out to the hallway and got ready to leave the flat when Niall came over with Coco. He took her leash on and we went to the lift together.

Niall: So where you going?
Stella: To Ethan’s. I haven’t met him in like 4 weeks.
Niall: Oh… will you come back home before 7?
Stella: I don’t know, why?
Niall: Just asking.
Stella: Alright… I can stay away for the night if you’re having someone over.
Niall: Yeah that’s what’s happening, I’m having someone over…
Stella: Okay, I’ll crash at Ethan’s then.
Niall: cool.

He looked down at Coco and I saw that there was something wrong, but I didn’t want to bring it up because he would probably just get pissed and shut me out and I didn’t feel like having an angry Niall in the back of my head all night.

As I turned up on Ethan’s driveway, my phone started buzzing. I looked at it and saw that it was my mum, I hadn’t talked to her much lately so that she called me was kind of unexpected.

Stella: Hello?
Mum: Hey, Stella?
Stella: Yes, you called my number… who did you expect?
Mum: No one… sorry. How are you love?
Stella: I’m good mum, what’s wrong?
Mum: Nothing is wrong, why would there be anything wrong?
Stella: We haven’t talked in ages.
Mum: Exactly, I just wanted to hear your voice…
Stella: Mum!
Mum: Sorry! Have you heard from your brother?
Stella: Jacob? No, why would I?
Mum: We had a fight and he stormed out, I haven’t heard from him since.
Stella: When was that?
Mum: a week ago…
Stella: And you call me now?!
Mum: I figured that he would come back but he hasn’t.

I took a deep breath and tried to keep calm. This wasn’t the first time Jacob disappeared for days but it was just as scary each time.

Stella: Have you talked to-
Mum: I have talked to everyone!
Stella: Alright, what do you want me to do?
Mum: just, text me if he contacts you.
Stella: I will.
Mum: Thank you love.

There was a couple of seconds of silence before I decided to ask about my dad.

Stella: How’s dad doing?
Mum: He’s doing fine, he is still upset that you lied but I’ve been trying to get him to understand.
Stella: You have?
Mum: Yes Stella, I have. I’ve been 18 too and trust me; you’re much more mature than I was when I was 18. I trust you when you make decisions but it was a shock and I hope you understand that.
Stella: Of course I understand and I am truly sorry for lying but I knew that both of you would say no if I asked if a boy could move in with me.
Mum: You’re right about that. But hey, what do you say we leave that behind us?
Stella: Sounds good to me.
