"Janna!" Marco called out, nearly tripping over himself.
"Woah Diaz," Janna turned to him, a smirk forming across her lips. "Chill."
Marco sighed and gained enough balance to walk up to her. He rubbed the back of his neck. Janna always looked at him in a way that would make him uncomfortable. Eyes half-lidded, arms crossed, and her brows furrowed. Marco felt his heart racing, boy he got nervous over the smallest of things.
"I didn't know you knew Star," The brunette finally spoke.
"Oh yeah. She's cool." Janna shrugged. "Why?"
"Do you know her parents?"
"No..." Janna looked at him suspiciously. "Why?"
"I mean...I'm pretty close with Star and, uh, my parents want to meet them! You know how parents are." Marco lied. He had to think of something clever to make Janna believe he wasn't up to anything 'weird'.
"Oh well, that's not going to happen Diaz. No one knows Star's parents. You know how that goes." She began to walk away as if she was uninterested in the whole conversation.
"Wait!" Marco caught up to her, "Are they that strict?"
"Sure." Janna didn't stop walking.
The 14 year old frowned, walking beside her. He couldn't seem to figure her out. Well, actually, I don't think anyone could ever figure her out. Janna was two words—mysterious and unpredictable. She didn't care at all if people called her strange, instead she would just scare them away with her fangs or threaten them.
After 5 minutes of walking, Janna stopped and turned towards Marco. He noticed her mouth slightly opening, releasing quiet hissing noises. The brunette immediately knew what was coming. The fangs.
"Janna—" hiss~
"Janna please—" hiss~
"JANNA!" Marco yelled. She went quiet rather quickly.
"Don't you get it, Diaz?" The short haired girl had a look of dismay in her eyes. "Or do I have to explain it to you?"
"Explain what?"
An exasperated sigh escaped from her lips. She seemed unsettled and anxious as her foot tapped on the ground.
"You can't meet Star's parents because Star hasn't met them."
"I don't understand." He noticed Janna rolled her eyes.
"You can't meet Star's parents because Star doesn't have any! She never has! Marco, Star doesn't even have a home, she's homeless."
