Crash!
Marco's window broke as a green light hit it. He immediately covered Star, gritting his teeth as glass fell onto them. A low chuckle echoed throughout the room.
"Well, well, well. Look what we have here."
Was that a man or a reptile?
"The lost princess and some human trash boy!"
Marco crawled off of Star and realized that his room was now covered in monsters. Not good. Star looked up at the reptilian man and frowned. "Who are you?" She furrowed her brows and rose her wand in the air.
"Oh, sweetheart. Don't point things at me that you don't have a clue on how to use. Now, hand over the wand and I'll leave him alone." The lizard smirked and Marco disappeared.
"Marco!" Star looked around, worried. "Where's Marco?!"
"Oh, he's safe and sound. For now." The lizard laughed. "Monsters, charge!"
All at once, every monster ran towards Star. They rose their weapons as if they were attacking a whole other army.
Star zapped Marco's wall, creating a hole. She jumped out and almost landed on cacti, but made a cloud appear underneath beforehand. She turned, looking at all the monsters peeking out of the hole.
"What do I do?! Marco's gone and that lizard dude is right...I can't use this wand up to its full abilities." Star frowned, sniffling.
The cloud smiled at her. "There once was a princess named positivity. She find out her friend was in captivity. And in less than an hour, she defeated them with her brainpower. And then disappeared her negativity."
Star blinked and then furrowed her brows again in anger. "I'll do whatever it takes to get back Marco." She stood up and turned around, pointing her wand towards all of the monsters looking through the hole.
"Dagger crystal heart attack!" Star yelled, as heart shaped daggers lunged towards the beasts. They all screamed, running into each other and then summoning a portal and jumping in. Star got closer to Marco's window and peaked inside. The lizard man was sitting on Marco's bed with his legs crossed.
"You may be able to defeat them, princess. But it is nearly impossible to beat me."
"I'm going to ask again, who are you?" Star kept her wand raised.
"The names Toffee." He hissed.
"And where's Marco, Toffee?" She asked angrily.
"He's my monsters' new toy. They like to beat up things, you know." Toffee smirked evilly, his brows scrunching together.
"Let him go!" Star jumped through the window and grabbed Toffee's collar. "I demand you."
"I don't take orders from little brats like you." Toffee shoved her off, sending Star tumbling backwards into a corner.
"Now, hand me the wand and make things easier for yourself." Toffee held out his hand. Star noticed one of his fingers was missing, "Who did that to you?" She asked, but not out of curiosity. She needed to buy some time.
"Your mother."
Star's eyes widened. "M-my mother?! Where is she???"
"You're asking the wrong person, princess. Maybe I'll consider telling you when you hand over that wand." Toffee lunged himself towards Star but she jumped to the side, causing him to hit the wall.
"Hard way it is then." Toffee took out a pair of scissors and cut into the air.
Star was confused until she realized the scissors were making a portal of some sort.
"Good-bye." The lizard man stepped into the portal, waving.
Star ran after him and then stumbled, falling into the portal. She got up quickly and looked around. She was in a huge castle and Toffee was nowhere to be seen. "Marco!" She called out and when she heard a boy-ish scream she began to run.
"Marco!!!" Star ran around, freaking out until she spotted a group of monsters all circling something.
Marco was chained up to a wall. His arms were above him and his feet were barely touching the ground. His mouth was dripping blood and his nose was just starting to bleed. The red hoodie that was once on his body was now ripped and a monster was beginning to tie it around his mouth like a gag.
When Star realized what was going on, her eyes widened. She pointed her wand at a monster, "LASER BEAM BLAST!"
The monster turned to ash. This caught all of the other monsters attention. They ran towards Star and she continuously blasted them until most of them decided to run away.
Marco's head hung low as Star approached him. She unchained him and he fell into her arms, barely conscious. Star unwrapped his hoodie from his mouth and cautiously touched his face.
"Marco?" Star whispered carefully.
Marco opened his eyes to look at Star and smiled. "You found me." He spewed blood to the side of him.
"Of course I did! I would never let them keep you." Star hugged him excitedly. She forgot he was beginning to bruise.
Marco hugged her back through the pain. He was glad to see his best friend again and not that weird lizard.
"Where are we?" Marco asked as she let go.
"I have no idea. The only way to get home is if we find Toffee." Star stood up. "Are you in shape to do that?" She offered him a hand.
"I'm always in shape to fight by your side." Marco took her hand and stood up.
The two began their journey to find Toffee. After a couple of hours the two teens were exhausted and they sort of felt like giving up. The castle was ginormous which didn't help their search.
"I have an idea." Star whispered. She dropped her wand. "OKAY TOFFEE! I GIVE UP. THE WAND IS ALL YOURS."
"Star!" Marco whisper-yelled.
Toffee appeared in front of the wand and reached to pick it up. Star snatched it before he could and pointed it at him, "Hand over those scissors you used to come here."
Toffee smiled. "And what'll you do if I don't?"
"Let's just say...I won't only take one finger."
Toffee frowned. "Pathetic girl." He threw the scissors at her but Marco jumped in front of Star before they could hit her. He held out his hand and grabbed them quickly.
"Goodbye Toffee." Star cut into the air and jumped into the portal, holding Marco's hand so he would follow her. The portal closed.
Marco and Star fell back into Marco's room.
"You were awesome!" Marco wiped blood off his face with his arm and took a seat onto his bed.
"I would've been even more awesome if you didn't get hurt." Star frowned, fixing the window and wall with a few spells.
"Hey, so what if I got a little hurt?" Marco sighed. "I'm not dead or anything. You practically saved my life. Again."
"Again?" Star sat down beside him.
"Well...yeah. The first time you saw me I was just about ready to fall out my window cause I couldn't handle the bullies anymore." Marco slouched.
Star remembered calling out Marco the first time she saw him, wondering what the hell he was doing. Now that she found out, she wished she could go back to the moment where she didn't know.
"Really?" Star looked at her lap. She wanted to kill those bullies. Maybe not kill, maybe more like threaten or make them pee their pants.
"I guess..."
"Don't worry Marco. No bully will ever bully you again as long as I'm around you." Star promised.
"What happens when you're not around me?"
Star grabbed his face, turning it so he could face her. "I think I'm always going to be around you." And then she did it. She brought his face closer to hers and kissed him so sweetly that she didn't taste the blood on his lips. She was going to kiss him before those rude monsters had interrupted her, but boy was she glad she was kissing him now. It felt like she was on more of those positive, happy clouds. But this time Marco was on them too. When Star felt him kiss her back, she felt as if she could do anything. But she couldn't. That's what snapped her back to reality. She let Marco go and felt like regretting her decision. Too bad her decision was just too damn good to regret.
"I-I'm sorry." Star was bright red and so was Marco.
"Do-don't b-be." Marco couldn't look at her.
Star had forgotten Marco was completely infatuated with Jackie Lynn Thomas. Did he even have feelings for Star? What if he didn't? She cursed herself quietly.
"That was..." Marco began.
Here it comes.
Star prepared herself for the worst.
"Amazing." Marco smiled at her, finally meeting her eyes.
