"I'll see you tomorrow morning, right?"
"Of course you will. Now go get some rest.."
"Goodnight Star."
Now get some rest...
Get some rest..
Rest.

"Marco?" Jackie had her arms crossed as she stood in front of him. "Hey...class is about to start."

Marco looked up at her. She frowned when she noticed how dark the bags under his eyes had become. His hair was messy and his eyes spoke a thousand words of hurt. It hurt Jackie to see her friend in such a miserable state especially since she couldn't do anything to relieve him.

"Why did I think I could come back to school?" Marco stood up. "I-I should leave."

"Leave? Where are you going to go?" Jackie stood her ground in front of him.

"I can't do this." Marco pushed passed her and quickly headed towards the class door.

"Diaz, where do you think you're going?" Miss Skullnick spat in disgust.

"The bathroom." Marco's hood helped to hide his deteriorating features. He walked out quickly.

Janna walked up to Jackie, "Miss Skullnick, I'm having a major menstrual malfunction and I could really use Jackie's help—"

"Say less next time Ms. Ordonia, you're excused." Skullnick hissed and began to start the lesson.

Janna took Jackie's hand and rushed out of the classroom.
"You really took one for the team back there." Jackie said with a smile on her face. "Thanks Janna."

"Whatever, let's just pretend that never happened. Where'd Diaz go?" She looked around.

"I don't know. We have to find h—"

"Spotted." Janna took off running towards the hooded figure descending down the hallway. She tackled him from behind.

"Janna!" Marco yelped, standing ground as the brunette girl behind him attached herself to his back.

"Where ya headed to Diaz?" Janna questioned him curiously.

Jackie walked in front of him, "Marco, I know you. I know how much you like Star." She rubbed her arm. "But please don't do anything reckless..."

Marco lowered his head. "I have to get out of this dimension and I don't even know how I can do that without dimensional scissors!"

"What? You're trying to leave the dimension?" Janna hopped off of Marco and stood next to Jackie. "Without us? I gotta say Diaz, I'm hurt."

"What if she's hurt?" Marco's tone shifted into fright. "What if she's worse than hurt? I just don't understand...would she really leave me without a word?"

Jackie and Janna stayed quiet, their eyes fixated on the ground.

"That's what worries me. Star wouldn't do that...what if she got kidnapped and I'm just stuck here eating crap?!"

"We're going to find her Marco. We are. Not you alone. That's too risky. I may not understand this dimension thing or Star's powers, but I'm sticking by your side." Jackie took his hand.

"Count me in." Janna took his other hand and smirked. "But you have to explain everything you know to Jackie and I so we can understand."

Marco looked at the two girls in front of him and contemplated whether he should bring them into this or not. He looked at their hands and then looked back up at them.
"Okay. Let's go to my house."

"Alright!" Janna cheered. "You made the right choice Diaz. We're gonna be a great team."

On the way home, Marco began to explain everything he knew about Star's situation including the monsters that kidnapped him. He told them about how Star's parents had been missing but not dead and how she was being threatened so she began to travel to different dimensions to build a team of allies. He had no issue trusting Jackie and Janna and he was glad they were the ones that were going to help him. They seemed to understand the things he couldn't even understand himself and they were great listeners. It was also a plus that Janna had been friends with Star much longer than he had and she did add her two sense into things. She told Marco she didn't believe Star was kidnapped but she didn't understand why she would just drop everything without a word and leave.

It had been six days and although that didn't seem like such a long time, it was the longest and most torturous time of Marco's life. He believed he would see Star in the morning and when he didn't, he tried to not let it get to him.
She's just recruiting allies. That's all.
He told himself each day she was gone, each hour, each minute. Star's room had a new sense of emptiness and it tore Marco to pieces. He knew he needed the extra help and that's why he let Jackie and Janna in so easily. But what Marco was especially nervous about was the fact that he had no way to travel to different dimensions and there were no dimensional scissors anywhere in his household no matter how hard he looked. He rummaged through what use to be Star's room, through the small amount of belongings she left behind and he couldn't find any evidence on why she left and how he could possibly travel to her.

Tomorrow would mark a week since Star disappeared out of Marco's life. This crushed Marco. The person he called his best friend, the person that had saved him from making what would've been the biggest mistake of his life, and the person he had come to realize just how much he cared for had vanished without a single word. Marco didn't know what hurt him more, the idea that she might've been kidnapped or the idea of her leaving without saying a single thing. Maybe he did know what hurt him more, but he didn't want to imagine it any longer. He was grateful Janna and Jackie were with him during this rough time because he knew he would've been even more lonely, even more damaged without anyone being there for him.

"I want you both to realize what you're sacrificing." Marco was sitting in his room at his desk as he spoke to the two friends in front of him. "This isn't some new cool adventure, this is finding Star no matter what the circumstances. We're going to missing school for who knows how long."

"You sold me, I've been dying for an excuse to get out of that hellhole." Janna nodded her head in satisfaction.

"Jackie?" Marco looked at the platinum blonde girl and tried to read her expression.

"Star is more important than school." Jackie said after a few seconds of contemplation.

"Thank you both, really. I hope you have some basic combat skills." Marco stood. "You might need them."

"Oh I do! I took boxing classes for 2 months." Janna fluttered her eyelashes, a wicked smile appearing on her lips.

"Err, Janna I don't really think that's...you know never mind.." Jackie brushed a piece of her hair behind her ear and looked at Marco. "I think we should be fine. I'm pretty athletic myself." She smiled and looked at the time, "Oh shoot, I gotta go. Mom's making dinner tonight and told me I can't miss it."

"I gotta go too, not for family dinners or anything...more like for sorcerer stuff." Janna continued to smirk.

"Have fun with that." Marco waved them both goodbye and looked around his room. He waited for the two to be completely gone before heading to Star's room again. It was the fourth time today he had been in her empty room and each time his heart broke a little more. He sat down on her bed, his hands caressing the bed covers and his brows furrowed in deep thought. He laid back and let his arms rest on his chest.

"Why'd you have to leave me..." Marco began to doze off until he was abruptly woken by a strange noise. The sound of flames crackling and an explosion forced Marco to sit upright. His heart was racing and he gulped before turning his head to see what had just appeared in his best friend's room.

A large black and red carriage engulfed in flames was now casually sitting in the center of Star's room. It was definitely carrying something that was evil, Marco decided. He crawled backwards on the bed until his back hit the headboard. His eyes were wide and his face was paling.

The door of the carriage opened slowly.
Yup. Definitely evil.
When a purplish boy stepped out with horns and pink hair, Marco wasn't sure what to think.
The boy removed the black sunglasses he was wearing,

"Everyone led me here, Starship. I'm so glad to finally have found you—who are you?"

Marco tried to focus on two of the three eyes the demon boy was staring at him with. "Uh...who are you?"

"Shoot...is this the wrong address?" The boy pulled a paper out of his pocket and groaned in frustration. "Oh man, this is awkward. My name's Tom Lucitor and I've traveled around 47 dimensions looking for my girlfriend." He pulled a photo out of his pocket and held it up. "This is her, have you seen her?"

Marco stared at the picture of Star he had never seen before. He gulped and nodded. It took a moment for him to collect himself and respond to the demon boy in front of him.

"I..uh..I have."
