I wasn't even two steps into the gym before I was greeted by some of my old teammates.

"Do my eyes deceive me, or is this the man, the myth, the legend: Drew Sager?!" Casey walked over, sticking his hand out. I shook it firmly, laughing. "Glad to see you finally decided you weren't too good for us small town kids."

I shook my head, taking a drink from someone who passed with a tray of them. "Medical school doesn't give much time off, you know." I took a sip of scotch. "So how's everyone been, eh? I haven't seen any of you for what seems like forever."

Blake Inzer elbowed me. "Yeah, you're looking a little aged there, Sager. Do you sleep at all?" He laughed, patting my shoulder. "I'm only kidding, man, you look great! I'm glad you're doing so well for yourself."

My old best friend Peter walked up, a grin on his face. "Andrew Sager." I smiled, sticking my hand out toward him for a handshake. He ignored it, pulling me into a tight embrace. "I can't believe we managed to tear you away from your studies!" He held me at arm's length, looking me up and down. "What do you say we all get a table and have a seat? We have quite a bit of catching up to do, I'd say."

I nodded, smiling. It felt good to be home. I really had missed the cozy familiarity of Raymond and its residents. On our way over to a table, I grabbed a second scotch. A few more stopped me on my way to my friends, and I politely chatted for a bit. But eventually, I made it back to Peter and the rest of the guys.
