Drew's apartment was definitely a bachelor pad. In his living room, he had a black television stand with a tv settled on it. A gray couch and loveseat sat on opposite walls. His kitchen was big enough for a small table with four seats. A bookcase sat next to the front door.
Drew stared at me as I walked around his apartment. His sandy hair was still damp, and water was tracing its way down his torso. I found it hard not to stare at him.
"Couldn't sleep?" He asked, shifting nervously.
I smirked. "You know, you can go change."
He chuckled. "I'll be right back." He disappeared into his room, then came out a few minutes later. He wore a white and black striped button up shirt with black dress pants and dress shoes.
"You have a nice place." I said after a while.
"Here, I'll show you your room!" He beamed, grabbing my hand and dragging me through his living room and down the hallway. He threw open the door, and ushered me inside.
He did such a good job making this room feel like home. I found myself wondering how much money he spent on the accessories around the room. He even had a box fan set up in the corner. I looked over at Drew, and he was grinning to himself.
He walked over to the plush bed, plopping down and putting his arms behind his head. I couldn't resist myself, and I threw myself on top of him to hug him. He tensed momentarily, but then he hugged me back.
"Thank you so much." I mumbled before pulling away from him.
He sat up, smiling softly. "Of course. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't help out?"
I nodded, and then clapped my hands together. "Look what I brought." I ran into the living room to my suitcase, and unzipped it. I pulled out a picture frame and turned around, seeing Drew behind me.
I held out the frame to him. It was a picture of Drew and Peter on either side of me, their arms thrown over my shoulders. Drew was looking at me, and Peter and I were staring at the camera.
Drew's lower lip began to shake as he stared at the picture. Slowly, he began to smile. I could tell he was forcing the tears back.
"This is awesome." He said, setting it up on his coffee table.
"It was hard finding one where me and you didn't look like a couple." I laughed. "I didn't figure Olivia would like that." I sighed, getting emotional as I stared at the picture of Peter. "I miss him."
Drew nodded, crossing his arms. "I do, too." I felt myself getting mad at him not expressing his emotions. I decided the best thing to do was to not ruin the moment, and ignore it. "I have to go to work. What are you gonna do all day?"
"Maybe explore the city." I shrugged. "Watch trash tv all day."
He smiled, picking his bag up from by his dining table chair. "I'll text you later." He looked like he wanted to hug me, but slipped out the door.
I walked to my room, and crawled into bed. The pillowcase and sheet smelled like Drew.
