Hoia Bacu Forest
Transylvania,
Romania
"CATCH him!" A loud voice pierced through the forest. The thundering of hooves could be heard as the noise disrupted the tranquility of the naturally quiet forest, under the moonlight.
A while ago, back at the old Transylvanian castle, the usual night watch activity was going on until screams pierced through the strong walls.
Two guards rushed up the steps that led to the princess' chamber.
"Noooo!!Make it stop! Make it stop!!" The cries raged on. A guard tried the handle.
"It's locked " He said in a thick Romanian accent.
"Break it down" The other said.
The men did a quick count of three and the door gave way under their feet.
The huge room was dimly illuminated by the chandelier that held forty candles. The light was bright enough to make out a figure on the bed and another on the balcony.
"Stop!" The second guard shouted as the figure jumped from the railing, down to the garden below.
The guard looked out but saw no one there.
The other guard checked the motionless figure on the bed. The princess writhed once more and whispered her last words, knowing he would hear.
"My love, we will meet...again in another life ". Then she took her last breath.
"She's dead. " he told the guard by the window.
"We must report to his majesty. A great tragedy has befallen us"

The king did not take it lightly with the two men standing before him with their heads bowed.
He requested for his daughter's body and it was brought.
"My darling Wilma. Look what he's done to you. I tried to warn you but you wouldn't listen and now..." he broke off in a whisper. He sobbed a bit, then raised his head and screamed out to every guard in the room .
"Gather all your men, find him and kill him!!! Do not return !until your task is completed! I will not rest until I see my daughter's death is avenged! Go! Go!!"
All at once the palace was full of men yelling out orders and soldiers rushing to carry them out.
Horses were saddled and weapons we're prepared as the men rode out of the castle.
The forest was filled with thundering hooves as they neared their target.
"There he is! Don't let him get away!"
***
Fear enveloped him as he darted through the woods racing at top speed. He knew it would only be a matter of time before they found him.
Found - not caught. They couldn't catch him. They would never catch him.
But it wasn't his fault. She wanted to be like him, but she led herself to her death.
It hurt like a bullet wound.
He would never forget.
"Catch him! He's getting away!!" A soldier yelled bringing him out of his temporary withdrawal.
Something pierced his right shoulder.
A sword? An arrow?
He cursed, holding his bleeding shoulder as he avoided tree after tree. More arrows began to fly.
He could outrun them. But run where?
Surely the Covern would not welcome him anymore due to the atrocity he'd committed.
He had reached a river bank and he stopped and hurried towards the cliff.
He stood at the edge and gazed over it into the clear water that mirrored the setting moon.
"Over there! " A voice cried. He saw a flash in the moonlight and felt severe pain around his left shoulder.
He pulled out the arrow and staggered a bit.
His love. His one and only Wilma. He already missed her. She said she would meet him in another life and she had called him her love.
He'd fallen in love with her and look where it had gotten her.
Damn the wolf who had attacked them. Damn the king for caging her like an animal. Damn her for trusting him, for trying to save him. Damn him for failing at everything - for failing her.He took one look at the approaching soldiers and guards and the water below.
He knew what he had to do. He only hoped he wouldn't be wrong in taking this bold step.
His heart had loved once, but never again.
He'd made one terrible mistake that had cost him the loss of so many beloved things.
"So long Wilma my cherished love,' he whispered, "I too will meet you in another life. "
Then he jumped.
As the wind whipped past him, the last thing he saw was a quick reflection of his jet black hair and his silver eyes, before he hit the crystal clear water shining below.
Well, how is it? Don't fret yet. it's only the prologue. there is a whole lot more to come so comment on what you think about the story anyway I'll be waiting.
