"DARLING, you came!" A weak but cheerful voice cried the second I opened the door of the hospital four days later.

It wasn't like it was the first time I was coming. I'd come three days ago but she was still under shock so I'd come today.

"Hey June, how're you doing?" I dropped the box of candy and the bundle of flowers on the drawer beside her bed and sat down.

She sat up fully on the bed with great effort.

Wow, I thought. So this is what being confined can do to you.

I took in her pale skin, her once rosy cheeks now sunken and hollow and her baggy eyes.

Three days? I leave her in a hospital for three days and this is what happens?

I hugged a surprised June.

"Oh June, I'm so sorry. I wish I'd been there for you. I just..."

"There was nothing you could have done. Besides, it didn't kill me. I-It...well it just sort of huffed in my ear and walked away."

Now why did that line sound familiar?

"So why are you in the hospital?" I inquired.

She gave me a coy look.

"June?' when she didn't respond, I sighed. 'me too." She gave me a really  look. I shrugged.

She gazed at me for some time before she burst into laughter a few seconds later. I frowned. She didn't believe me. I couldn't believe this.

She was attacked by the same creature that had nearly scared the life out of me and she was  treating the issue like it was nothing?!

But I had to be sure.

"What colour was it?"I calmly asked.

"Why, it was a lovely brown colour. Why?" She inquired.  I shook my head and set up the hot meal the nurse had brought in.

"Did you run from it?" I asked.

"A—h no." Her eyes widened and she lowered her head quickly and started eating.

Hmm. A mite suspicious, huh?  I shrugged it off and opened the box of candy.

"Want to taste?" I asked, sampling one and wiggling another at her. She grinned mischeviously and snatched it out of my hand. She bit down on it and raised a brow.

"What?" I asked.

"About you-know-who." She suggestively wiggled her brows.

I felt my face redden as I remembered Julian's kiss.

"Oh shut up." I lowered my head. I felt rather than  saw her grin.

"How about my school life?" She asked.

"A few friends helped out with your note writing and failed to get the teacher to give you another chance for all the tests you missed out. Apart from that...it's pretty good.

'The only problem is I'll have to keep facing her 'til you get out of here." I drawled.

"Hey, she's the bit¢h. Stand strong and she'll lay off."

I nodded and hugged her, trying to take some pain off her.

"I'll find who did this and I'll make him pay. I promise."

"Ill be waiting, Delly. "
