Jack -
When Mark stopped screaming, he passed out. In a way, I felt sorry for him because he has spent the past ten years in this prison of white. But I knew he was here for a reason. I sat down at the desk and watched him. Not in a creepy way but in the way that I could make sure nothing was out of place. No one, not even me, knew what happened to cause his insanity and I was determined to be the first.
Watching him was mesmerizing. The way the locks of his hair dropped over his beautiful features. The way his chest lifted with each slow breath. A feeling I hadn't felt in years weighed down at my heart. I couldn't believe it. Was I really falling for a psychopath?
I must have fell asleep because when I lifted my head, Mark was stood as close as humanly possibly to the glass. I slowly stood up and checked my phone - 8pm. My shift ended in 2 hours ago. But I didn't care. I would spend every minute of every day here to help Mark in this hell hole.
"How long have you been awake?" I asked, walking over to him. His eyes flashed a sudden red, then back to chocolate brown. Was that real or was that me waking up properly?
"Since you fell asleep." Mark's voice was deep and smooth, like silk. My mind drifted with his words before I was snapped back to reality by Mark's psychotic laugh.
"Still can't get enough of Markimoo's dashing good looks, huh?"
My cheeks flushed a blood red. No words would leave my lips as I was lost for words - which was VERY rare. Mark just smiled before sitting on his bed, his legs crossed. I sat on the floor near the glass because I couldn't be bothered to sit at the desk.
"So, can I ask you some things...?"
For a couple hours, me and Mark just sat and got to know each other. By the time I had to leave, I knew that Mark murdered his girlfriend after she accused him of cheating and a demon replica of himself called Darkiplier possessed him to commit another 100 murders. I didn't believe the demon thing, but I didn't want to see him blow his fuse.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow then?" I said as I walked to the door. Mark's eyes suddenly flashed with pure anger. He started flailing his arms out and hitting the glass.
"YOUR LEAVING!!! AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE TOLD YOU!!! HOW COULD YOU BE SO HEARTLESS?!! YOU KNOW WHAT?? LEAVE!!! GO!! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!!"
Scared for my life, I ran out the door. As I left, I swore I saw Mark's eyes burn a fire red. But I was in too much of a hurry to go back. No matter whether I like him or not, he was still a psycho.
