"If you could put all your life experience into one piece of advice, what would it be?"
Hailee takes a deep breath, "Life sucks. It's going hurt like heck. You're going to feel hopeless and worthless. But it gets better, I promise. There are people that love you, let them help you. And I promise that you are strong enough to fight through whatever is going on, even if you feel too weak to stand. Also, once you reach the other side of your struggles, you'll realise that all the things that broke you down were really just stripping away all the junk covering up the precious gem that's been inside you all along. What you thought was taking away your strength and worth was actually giving you the ability to shine. Another important thing- screw what people think of you or expect you to be. You're amazing just the way you are. And..."
Hailee looks up at her father, who's smiling with watery eyes, then finishes,
"It's okay to cry."
Based on a true story of hurt, hope, and healing.
