"I don't see why we have to leave our perfectly good house for another one so far away." she says softly as She folds another shirt and stuff it into her already overflowing suitcase.

"Emma, you know that's not how you pack. Redo it and it's because your father has gotten a deal on a house not far from work and it is down the street from a prestigious private school which has offered to let you attend since you live so close and some other stipulations that no one really knows. A private donor has paid for your tuition. You should take him or her up on their offer instead of staying home all the time. Draemorth Academy is one of the best schools there and you will attend whether you like it or not. The summons has already been sent to you and there was even a box with your uniform in it." Kathrine Reynolds, her mother, says. I try to hold back a soft groan of irritation as I pull out her cell and start recording the entire thing.

"My family isn't poor but it isn't rich either. My parents are cheapskates. They care only about themselves. Sure Kathrine acts all kind and caring like she actually gives a shit. Then there's my dad . . . Jack. All hell breaks loose when he's actually home because usually there's another woman's perfume on his shirt or some kind of lipstick stuck on his lips and chin even though my mom doesn't wear lipstick. Then there's me. . . . I've always enjoyed the darker things in life. Death never bothered me, blood amuses me, and don't even get me started on the horror movies! The more gore the better I always say. Anyway . . . my family is moving to the town of Draemorth because of some mysterious job dad got and the weird summons letter I got in the mail saying that I will be joining the Darkspawn dorm. Hell if I even know what that means. I have lived a fairly sheltered life. I don't drink, smoke, and have no interest in drugs and sex like most seventeen and eighteen year olds are nowadays. Well enough about me. Let's go find out if her suitcase will fit in the car or not." she says turning off the camera and dragging her heavy suitcase to the Suburban. "Yeah, yeah I know that it's not technically a car but hell everyone stereotypes vehicles into being either a car or a truck right? Right." She mumbles to herself.

"Emma, hurry the hell up! If you want to still have time to say hi to Stormy and Freya, then we need to leave right now." Her mom yells at her.

"See, Stormy was once my best friend and dated our other friend, Thea, for about a month if even. Then when she attended Draemorth Academy she fell in love with the dorm president, Freya Crystallo. They have managed to have two boys and one girl together and are currently celebrating their third year anniversary. Don't get me wrong when I say that my mom isn't too happy about their marriage. Oh well. She can just suck it up because if I find what I'm hoping to find . . . aka answers, then she won't like anything about that place any better." she snickers into her camera.

"Will you put that fucking camera away? Geez. You'd think that you had glued the thing to your hand or something. Besides, you might look cute but I'm sure that eventually whoever you're sending those videos to is going to get tired of looking at your face." Kat says putting on her seatbelt. Emma roll her eyes and puts her headphones in turning her music up loud to drown out her constant complaining.

After hours upon hours of driving, they arrive at the sign welcoming them to Draemorth. Emma looks around trying to see if she can see the academy but all she can see is a large mountain range surrounded by fog and mist.

"We're almost there. We have to stop for gas then we'll go on to the new house where your father is supposed to be waiting for us." Her mom says forcefully cheerful. She shrugs and looks around. She sees a group of people hanging out in uniforms.

"I wonder if they go to Draemorth Academy." She asks herself rolling down her window. One of the girls notices and nudges her friends. They all snicker and laugh.

"Are you lost?" One of them asks.

"Nope. Are you?" She scoffs irritatedly and embarrassed at the lameness of her comeback.

"Aww, she blushes." Another one of the group says laughing like he'd just heard the best joke in the world. The girl Emma originally saw lets out a soft growl.

"Leave her alone." The girl snarls glaring at the others.

"B-but Thea . . . we weren't even doing anything." The first guy who Emma spoke to says defensively.

"She is new here obviously. When the headmasters hear about this you will be reprimanded. Now let's get back to the academy." The girl, Thea, says turning on her heel and storming away as if she didn't recognize Emma. The others hurry to catch up with her and that's when she sees the hidden signs of weapons.

"Is she really in danger enough that she needs three or four bodyguards with her at all times? Maybe Draemorth is the place for me after all. I mean, who doesn't like a good mystery? Plus they said academy so I'm guessing that is in reference to Draemorth Academy. Maybe I'll see them there and I can maybe get some answers." She thinks amused at them trotting after her like guard dogs.

"Okay, ready to go?" Kat asks getting in the car after paying for the gas.

"As if I have a choice." She scoffs folding her arms over her chest as her mother pulls back onto the mostly empty road.

Fifteen minutes later, they pull up to a three story brick house next to a large elegant castle. Emma gasps softly and gazes admirably at it. She looks at her mother confused.

"Who lives in that castle?" She asks curiously.

"The headmaster, his wife, their children, Freya and Stormy's family, and a few guards here and there. Why?" She asks her. She merely shrugs. "Welp, time to get the bags." Kathrine says parking as two women come out of the house, both dressed in maid uniforms. The plump one takes Emma's bags while the scrawny one takes Kat's. Emma smirks knowing that she could get used to such luxuries. She walks inside tentatively and is drawn to a room with the perfect view of the castle next door.
