In The Dark Of Night

After the tour with Thea, Emma is quite exhausted. As soon as she entered her dorm she noticed that Krista was already sleeping even though it seemed that she was having a nightmare.

"Maybe I should wake her up?" she asks herself. Before she could touch the girl, a scream pierces through the dead of night. Krista immediately wakes up and reaches for something under her pillow. Emma gasps and yelps seeing that it's a weapon.

"Don't leave this room, understand?" She orders looking at Emma with a fearful but serious look.

"What are you going to do?" Emma asks softly starting to shake with fear.

"I'm going to see who's in trouble and kick ass if I have to." she says impatiently.

"Be careful please." Emma says biting her lip.

"Fuck it." Krista says causing Emma to give her a confused look. She pulls Emma to her and locks her lips on hers. Before she can say anything, Krista runs out the door into a potential fight zone. Emma sits on the floor numb from shock as the tingling finally subsides. "Be careful Krista." she thinks to herself.

"Why are you here? You should be trying to send your mate strength." one of the early returning students says running past her room.

"I can't. I don't know how." she pleas.

"Just do what feels right." he says dragging her behind him. She yelps following quickly. He shoves her into a room with Lilith.

"What are you doing here?" she asks Emma.

"I don't know. He literally made me come in here. He said something about sending energy or something." She says confused.

"Fine. I'll try to teach you, but the battle tonight is going to be one of the worst ones since half of our advanced students are still on their way back." Lilith says going back to meditating.

A couple of hours later, several people slowly drag themselves into the room where Lilith and Emma are. Emma watches the door waiting to see Krista hoping that she succeeded in her efforts. "I hope that she's okay at least." she thinks to herself when a girl approaches her.

"Are you Emma?" she asks. Emma nods quickly with a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. "Alpha wants you." She says. Emma looks back at Lilith who is holding Leonidas and motions for her to follow the girl.

When they reach Krista, she barely has her eyes open. She reaches for Emma's hand and kisses her palm. "Emma, you're my mate." She says in a harsh whisper. Emma buries her face in her shoulder.

"I know Krista. I felt it too." She cries softly.

"Oh, come on, it's not like she's going to die. She just needs to rest and recover." One of the women says before leaving the room. Emma lays beside her and feels her pulling her closer. She blushes hearing Krista whisper that she loves her.
