Close Calls And Clear Warnings:

"We're just glad that you weren't hurt." Lilith says casting a worried glance at her husband.

"Indeed we are. We will investigate immediately. Until then, those showers are shut down and you will shower in a personal room set aside for staff or guests." Leonidas says sitting behind his desk.

"Father, if I may interrupt, there is a man here to see you. He says that it is urgent." one of Leonidas's sons says knocking on the door.

"We were just finishing here anyway. Please send him in and show Krista and Emma to their new room. Their belongings should already be there." he says standing to walk them to the door.

"At least he is launching an investigation." Emma says unpacking her clothes that were dumped in her suitcases and moved haphazardly. Krista watches her having already unpacked.

"True my love. At least here we don't have to worry about sharing showers or finding random things." she says trying to be amusing but her voice still holds a worried and serious tone.

"What is it darling?" Emma asks looking at her.

"Just thinking about who it could be. I've seen things that you could not imagine and they are all warnings. Maybe it'd be best if you went home to Kathrine and Sapphire?" Krista says the pain in her voice evident.

"What? Why? No! Are you tired of me already? Only one night of my inexperience and you are weary of me?" Emma asks choking back tears already as her fears and insecurities come bubbling to the surface despite her vain efforts to have them pushed and locked away.

"No baby. That's not what i'm saying at all. I just worry that knowing me and me claiming you has put you in more danger than you would have been having not known me. I could never forgive myself if I were the cause of your demise or any harm in general." Krista says quickly hurrying to pull her into her arms. Emma buries her face into her chest letting herself break and be vulnerable. "I could never grow weary of you my love. Your inexperience only makes me love you all the more. It reassures me that you haven't loved or lusted after another before me." She says kissing the top of her head rocking her as she cries.

Later that night, Krista slips out of their room to attend a secret meeting with some of the teachers, the headmaster, his wife, and the High King and Queen. She takes a deep breath hoping that Emma wouldn't wake before her return. 'I can only imagine what fear she'll think of if she wakes up and i'm not there beside her.' she thinks as she slips into the hidden room to find that everyone else is already there.

"Thank you for joining us. I trust that your mate does not know of your whereabouts?" One of the teachers asks from his seat at the long table.

"No, she is asleep. I don't expect her to wake for another several hours . . . Now, this meeting can begin I'm supposing." She says taking her place in the only empty chair.

"Now then. It seems that there is an enemy targeting my adoptive sister, Grace. There has already been reports of a rattlesnake appearing in the ladies showers in the hall she and Krista used to inhabit. There is not just one but several. It seems that whoever is trying to scare her, doesn't know that she and her mate have been moved. I would like to keep it this way. Until then, one of you, besides you Krista, shall accompany her wherever you may go. It's not only for her safety, but for her mate's and several others here amongst us." Leonidas says taking control of the floor.

"I agree. I think that Absolum should be the one to do it." the professor that they had originally reported the snake to says nonchalantly.

"Why should I be stuck with her? You should perhaps be stuck with her, Hugo. Seeing as they came to you first about the snake which you decided to take lightly." Absolum says glaring at him for being volunteered first.
