Emma sighs and unpacks her clothes from the suitcases hoping to be left alone in peace. As if they can hear her silent pleas, her parents both come in her room and glare around it unapprovingly.
"You still haven't finished unpacking?" Her mother snaps at her as if they hadn't just moved to Draemorth not even a few hours ago.
"Of course I'm not. We just got here. I mean, it could be worse." She grumbles. Her mother glares at her.
"How dare you speak to me like that?" Kat growls. Emma growls at her and storms out. She runs outside onto the hidden pathway that she spotted from her window.
"I'll prove one day that I am good enough. I will prove that I am a good daughter. Why do they treat me this way?" She asks herself as she runs. She hears footsteps close to her location and looks back causing her to miss the tree root that happened to be sticking up at just the right angle to make her fall.
"Are you okay?" A feminine voice above her asks. As she looks up, she sees warm brown eyes full of worry and concern as they look her over for potential injuries. Emma looks at her ankle which is now twisted in a very uncomfortable angle.
"Um . . . I think so?" She asks hesitantly feeling faint.
"I'm going to take you to my house. My friend is able to heal many people with ease it seems." the girl says taking Emma into her arms with ease. Blushing, Emma settles into her chest to make it easier for her to carry her.
"Headmaster, where is your wife?" the girl asks opening the door and walking in.
"Why do you want to know? Who is this? Why did you bring her here?" he asks her irritatedly as he comes down the stairs. The girl sits Emma on the couch close to the staircase.
"Her ankle is hurt. I was hoping that Lilith could be able to heal it. She's also my . . ." The girl says softly as her gaze lingers over Emma's lips. Leonidas nods his head knowingly.
"She is not here at the moment. Try putting it on ice and see if that will help it to improve. If not, we will look into other means." he says leaving the room.
"You addressed him as headmaster, why?" Emma asks curiously.
"He is Headmaster Leonidas. He presides over the Draemorth Academy. I attend classes there. You would probably like to know my name wouldn't you?" she laughs nervously.
"Um . . . yes, that would be nice to know and Draemorth? I am to attend classes there. My family and I just moved here." Emma says as she goes to get an ice pack and a pillow to elevate her ankle.
"My name is Krista Montello. I am a relative of Freya and the Headmaster." the girl says applying the ice pack.
"I'm Emma Reynolds." she says shyly watching as Krista moves to sit beside her.
"Don't worry, I don't bite . . . much." She says with a playful wink. Emma blushes brightly which causes Krista to giggle. "You're adorable. I can tell that things are going to be interesting now." she says as a woman around 5'2" enters laying her keys in a bowl and freezing when she sees Krista and Emma.
"Who is she and why is she in the house?" she asks not taking her eyes off of Emma.
"Lilith, this is Emma. Emma that is the Headmaster's wife." Krista says quickly.
"Well, why is she here?" Lilith asks tapping her foot.
"She hurt her ankle." Krista motions to the ice pack and Emma's elevated foot.
"Well, it should be better by now so off she goes. You know that we don't bring non-students into this house." she says in a scolding tone.
"She is a student." Krista says removing the ice pack and examining Emma's now healed ankle.
