Something bad's about to happen

Usually when I come home, I am ambushed by all my children, with hugs and kisses. Tulio and Alexandria talk at the same time so I don't understand most of what they say. And Opal just shakes her head. Ame is usually in the kitchen, our room or in the living room but I always find my way to her to plant a kiss on her beautiful lips.
Sometimes dinner is ready. Sometimes it's not but me and Ame make magic in the kitchen while the kids finish up homework. The kids set the table with Opal fixing drinks, Tulio passing out napkins and Alexandria putting down silverware. We sit it the table together and talk about our day and then watch about an hour of tv and then wash up for bed.
But today was different. There was no one to greet me. No kisses and no dinner. It was completely vacant.
When I walked into the kitchen, there were groceries all over the table. There was a note on the fridge reading: Hey babe, forgot about Opal's swim meet and will be late. Can you put up the food and dinner is in the freezer. Love you babe, and see you when we get home.

I put the dinner in the oven and went to take a shower after I put up the food. I don't take long showers so I didn't expect them to be be there when I was done. Once I got out, the house was still empty. It was late. They were supposed to be here already. I don't like the thought Ame being out so late. She's four months pregnant and has 3 untrained super powered kids. Just thinking about it made me freak. So I called her.
She didn't answer the first time. So I called her a second time and she answered on the 4th ring,"Hey, babe. Sorry, I didn't get your call. I'm going home late. Don't worry the kids and I are fine. Just don't wait up. You have work in the morning. Love you, gonna go bye."
And then she hung up.
I turned off the oven and put on a jacket. The meet only lasted an hour and they've been gone for about 3. Plus I didn't have work in the morning. She knows that. And she sounded so robotic and she always tells me be careful and then says she and the kids love me. Something tells me something bad is about to happen.
