2 years later
Jungkook once again plopped down to a seat, a particular seat with sentimental value. He is once again sitting at that very particular corner of Bittersweet cafe.
Looking around the cafe to check the surroundings and everything there is. The place haven't change a bit, and he would never even think of changing it. He would just bring it back to life.
Oh haven't I mentioned? He actually bought the cafe. Together with his best friend Jimin, they partnered in this business and convinced their Jin hyung to let them take over.
Jin, who is now happily married to Namjoon a year ago, entrusted his beloved cafe to his dongsaengs. The couple migrated to the U.S. after marriage and stayed there for good, having the cafe close for a long time.
Jungkook who was at Busan having his own restaurant with the specialty of lamb skewers, received a message from Jimin about Jin and the abandoned cafe. Jungkook was at first hesitant to go back to Seoul, thinking that maybe a certain brunette would show up and he would mess up for the second time around.
"Taehyung's not here anymore, Kookie. He's at U.S." Jimin said one time when they were talking on the phone.
Well, that shattered his heart a bit. Firstly, he wasn't informed, and secondly, he felt unwanted and betrayed, again. It just added to the numbness of his heart causing for him to answer, "okay, that's good." But in reality, it was no good at all.
While in Busan, Jungkook was not even doing a great job about forgetting Taehyung actually.
Over time, Taehyung's success wasn't a secret anymore. Lately, the magazine company he works for had expanded it's partnership to Korea. So every month, there would be copies of the magazine all over the country. He once caught her mother reading one, and she even blurted out "is this the same Kim Taehyung of yours?", while pointing at a certain name in an article about the sea and underwater animals. Jungkook just shrugged and mentally noted to check the magazine later on. To which when he did, he was mesmerized by his exboyfriend's talent for photography. Jungkook's mom knew about what happened, sure she was disappointed but she didn't get that mad, because deep inside she still wants Taehyung to end up with her son.
Taehyung has also been pretty popular, not just because of his skills in photography, but because of his looks. It made Jungkook wonder why haven't someone mentioned about the guy's family? About his child? The guy had been doing a great job financially and physically. He would sometimes appear on TV as the 'hot korean photographer' and Jungkook would notice how the brunette's looks improved. And it just worsened the longing of Jungkook's heart.
'He's now having a perfect life and he seemed happy now. He doesn't want me anymore, while I'm here continuously sulking.' The maknae thought.
When Jungkook returned to Seoul, he pretended to have moved on. He didn't talk about anyone related to the past anymore: about Hoseok, Irene and Taehyung. Yet, he still can't take the pain away every time Taehyung crosses his mind. Maybe owning this cafe was a bad idea?
Jungkook shook his head and concentrated at the door being opened, letting him return to reality. He saw his cute best friend entered with a wide smile.
"JEON JUNGKOOK!!"
Jimin ran towards his direction and quickly engulf him into a tight hug. "Oh my! You've grown a lot!" The shortie exclaimed noticing him eyeing his appearance. His gym sessions really paid off.
"How's life with Yoongi hyung?" Jungkook asked grinning.
"Well it's great. He's great. Except for one thing..."
"What is it?"
"He's always sleepy."
Jungkook laughed as his hyung pouted.
"But guess what?" Jimin said smiling again.
"Hmm?"
Jimin then raised his hand in front of Jungkook's face, showing off his ring. "We're engaged!!"
"Really hyung? Congratulations!" The younger was truly surprised. Since he thought those two weren't serious before.
"Enough about me. How's you Kook?"
The younger's smile faltered a bit. "Well..there's nothing about me."
"I heard you have a business at Busan? I have to try that when I go home."
"Yeah. It's not that much though. Just a lamb skewers resto"
"We would definitely try that! Yoongi loves lamb skewers!" Jimin exclaimed again.
"That's great! Actually it's nice to have a business though. And I'm glad I would have another one here." Says Jungkook looking around.
"Yeah. I never thought we would invest to this in the future. I'm kinda excited. It brings back old memories."
Jungkook kept quiet at that. Jimin noticed the younger's actions so he didn't say anything more. They walk around the place discussing about everything on how to start their new business, checking things here and there.
With a few reconstruction, and addition of things in the kitchen and pantry, the cafe will be perfect to open soon.
After they both agreed to things, they head to the door to leave. But as they neared, Jungkook unconsciously stared at the table at the corner again, imagining two boys sitting there and sipping their Caramel Macchiato.
"Kookie, let's go?" Jimin who is now holding the door open, called out to his best friend.
Blinking back tears, he nodded and went out the place, thinking that going back here is really a bad idea.
