Percy's POV
I had called a Counselor Meeting in the Big House. Well, technically now it was a counselor plus Electroclan Meeting, but it didn't really matter right now.
"The storm's over and Annabeth is back," I told them, "Tartarus's rise is no longer inevitable. He has no more vehicles and the majority of his troops are dead or incapacitated."
Clarisse leaned back in her chair, "And what do you want us to do about that, Prissy?" I put both of my hands on the table. "I'm saying that we should attack them now." The yelling was instant. I motioned to Annabeth, who stood up, glaring at all of the Counselors. It shut them up fast.
I'd like to say that everyone forgave Annabeth and accepted her back into the Camp with open arms. For the most part, that was true. Many of the older campers who knew exactly what had happened and knew who she really was welcomed her. Take Travis and Connor for example. When the prank is as simple as the one they pulled on her when they knew she would pummel them in a heartbeat, it was as if everything had gone back to normal. The campers who she's fought beside and for were practically bursting with excitement at the thought of their hero returning.
But there were certain people who didn't quite trust her anymore. Some of them were counselors. But even then, everyone was intimidated by her. "I know Hatch," Annabeth started, "And I know you guys. Many of you don't trust me anymore, and you're right to feel that way. But there's a reason you couldn't have won without me. I know exactly how to take Hatch down. Percy's right. Hatch will never suspect that we would attack him. And to be honest, we wouldn't. So he has the upper hand. Strike fast, strike hard, take him down. But first, we have to turn the Eagles."
The room erupted into chaos yet again. Annabeth didn't even have the will to glare again. She just sat down, staring at them all uncharacteristically calmly. "Are we going to win the war," Annabeth asked patiently once the noise died down, "Or are you idiots going to yell after every smart thing we say?"
"Now, who's in?"
<*~*~*~*~*>
Leo and I snuck towards Hatch's base through the forest, grinning maniacally at each other. "Ready, bro?" Leo asked. I lit my hand on fire, careful to avoid the leaves hanging above and around me. "I was born ready."
Simultaneously, both bolts of fire shot from our hands and onto the base, lighting it up. Soldiers flooded out of the base, quickly shoved aside by the senior officers, the Eagles, and Hatch. They were quickly ambushed by us, and it surprised me to see Hatch doing some actual fighting.
He was extremely calm for someone in the center of a bloodthirsty pool of demigods without a weapon or armor. He swept his arm around, sending a group of Roman soldiers soaring into the bushes. Bryan's lasers were flying everywhere, melting through Celestial Bronze blades and armor, and no one could stop him.
Kylee was just as bad. The flat of the blade would stick to her hand and hold fast, allowing her to yank it out of their hands. And if they just let go of the weapon, she would stick to their armor and hold them until someone else killed them.
The little squads we had created weren't doing much. The vines from the Demeter cabin were easily slashed through and everyone else's weapons confiscated. Only the Electroclan, Leo, Piper, the archers, and I were doing much at all. For everyone else, the casualties were only getting higher, and Hatch's army barely had a scratch.
I mentally face palmed. Nichelle! Duh. She hadn't used her powers in a long time. In fact, she'd been told that she couldn't use her powers. She was on the far side of the battlefield, completely unaware of the Eagles wreaking havoc on our own forces. I carved my way through the forces around me until I reached her.
