Chapter 12

"Come on, guys! It's simple sixteenth notes! It's not that hard-" Mr. Yerts yells at us for the third time that lesson. He's right though, it's not that hard- everyone's just being I'm imbeciles. "Now, let me hear the trombones starting there."

"What happened at lunch? And then in the hallway?" Seth whispers to me.

"Lunch was just a fricken' disaster, that was part of an even bigger disaster."

"What do you mean? I mean, you said that you weren't with the Honey badgers over there-" honey badgers, I like it, "so why were you sitting with them?"

"I agreed to something stupid, that may or may not involve me being in their group."

"Very funny, now what really happened?" He asks with a chuckle.

"I wish I was joking, Seth. But today was my "trial run"" I reply.

...

"Oh my god, you're serious. Are they threatening you? Did they put drugs in your food?" He asks as he grabs my face and swishes it around, looking at my eyes.

"Do you think that I would be having this bad of a time if they drugged me?" I say while laughing, smacking his hands away.

"So what happened that made you do this?"

"You'll find out eventually."

"Ah, come on, don't leave me hanging."

I just smile in reply and turn to the front, seeing Mr. Yerts with his head in his hands.

"Why are you ghastly things so talentless?"

"So what was up with you and Zach?" Craig asks as we exit the band room.

"You know his name is Seth, Greg."

"Haha-"

"What are you talking about, though?"

"You guys were all cuddly in there."

"We were not-"

"He grabbed your face and was smiling and so were you and-"

"We were just joking around, you turd. What's the big deal anyways?"

"If you're with us, you're with us- not some other guy." This makes me stop.

"Just because I'm doing this, doesn't mean that I'm going to leave behind the one thing I had that even resembled a friendship. I mean, it's not like we're dating-"

"Good."

"But even if we were, that wouldn't matter," I explain, starting to walk again.

"Just be careful, I don't trust him."

"Yeah, and he doesn't trust you, so." He stays quiet after that, opting to put his arm around my shoulder instead. What is up with Vulture boys and touching?

"Hey guys," Dylan says as we reach the lockers- stupid me not bringing my music theory stuff with me to band.

"Hey man," Craig replies, refusing to remove his arm as I open my locker.

"Hey T," Dylan says, hope in his voice.

"Dylan," I reply, pettily, might I add.

He sighs and closes his locker, leaning against it. And then he just stares, his eyes going from me, to Craig, and then to Craig's arm. Serves you right, Crow.
