*Fred's POV*

We were standing in the stands in the cold air as the first task was about to start, we followed Riley's plan of placing bets and it seemed to work—almost all of the students placed a wager. I stood next to Riley in the stands and wrapped my arms around her as she shivered in the cool air, I noticed her glance around uneasily before moving closer to my chest.

"What do you think the first task is?" I muttered to Riley and George.

George shrugged while Riley nodded down to the arena, "dragons."

"What?"

Riley pointed as we saw our brother Charlie bring in a dragon, it was fascinating watching my brother work and as he disappeared off into the distance we waited for the competition to begin. Riley grabbed my hands and pulled me even closer to her, I smiled as I leaned my head on the top of hers.

"Oi that git never told us he was coming!" I said slightly outraged.

"I'm sure you two can visit him quickly after this," Riley offered.

"Going to find Ron, wonder if he knew."

"Ten sickles on the winner," George turned to me.

I shrugged, "how will we determine that?"

"The most creative way they try not to get killed," Riley piped in.

I nodded, "I say Victor Krum."

George shrugged, "I say Diggory."

"Well I say Harry does," Riley chirped in with a big smirk on her face. We all shook hands as we stood waiting for everything to begin.

The first task began with Cedric Diggory who got severely burned but got the egg, Fleur and Victor Crum used different charms to get past their dragons and then it was Harry's turn. Harry looked so small as he clambered over the rocky terrain, we watched as he used a summoning spell to get his broom and took off—destroying some of the stands in his wake. We waited in silence until Harry returned, in the distance I heard the dragon roaring and then there was silence. When we saw a small dot heading towards us, Riley jumped up and Harry flew closer and closer to the now unguarded egg.

We celebrated that night in the common room, George and I begged Harry to open the egg so that we could all hear the clue—what came out was an ear piercing scream.

"What the bloody hell was that?" Ron shouted exasperated, suddenly the whole room was quiet and tense.

Ron looked nervous as he looked at Harry, apprehensively. "Come on everyone! This is going to be more awkward with you nosy sods listening in," I called and everyone in the room turned away from the two boys in silence.

Riley and I stood off to the side watching their exchange.

"Are boys always like this?" Riley muttered.

I laughed, "depends on who you're talking about."

Riley wrapped her arms around my waist and looked up at me with a great grin on her face, "I'm glad you aren't like that."

I smiled and kissed her forehead, in the distance I noticed Kristen from earlier watching us, I shot her a dry look before Riley and I began walking.

"Now as the host school of the tournament I will not have you behaving like a bunch of babbling bumbling band of baboons at this dance." McGonagall stated to the grades of fourth and seventh year in Gryffindor, we were gathered in the Great Hall—boys on one side and girls on the other—I saw Riley staring at me across the room snickering.
