*Riley's POV*

"Ron!" I called as I walked up to him at the burrow.

Fred and George had promised that they would take me to the burrow as soon as possible and I kept bugging them until they did, I hugged Ron tightly and smiled.

"How're you feeling?" Ron asked.

I shrugged, "I'm good! Listen...I've been sending letters to Harry and...Padfoot but neither of them are answering...."

Ron backed away and his eyes widened, "you don't know do you?"

I slowly shook my head, "what's going on?"

Ron grabbed my arm and led me over to a patch of grass and we sat there in silence before he took a breath, "when we were at the ministry....the order got there, and well...Bellatrix...she killed him. Sirius, I mean."

I stared at him, my heart sunk as his words sunk in. Ron put his arms around me and pulled me into a hug as I sobbed quietly, "but...how...why..."

Ron shrugged, "its not your fault Rye."

I nodded slowly and sat up with a small smile on my face, "I suppose that would explain a lot."

Ron nodded as he pulled me into another hug, "you still have us, Riley."

I looked down at my hands as he let go, he grabbed my hand and stroked my fingers with his, "is it lunch yet?" I whispered.

Ron chuckled as he put his arm around me and we walked inside silently, it was a shock to hear that Sirius was dead. I don't know what I'll do, I was so happy to learn that I had some family member out there and I never learned all about my family. I had so many questions that I wanted to ask but I never got the chance and now I never will.

I let the tears fall as Ron's words sank in, I barely knew Sirius but the simple fact that he seemed to care about me when I was with him made me feel safe. Now, knowing that my family was mostly dead, I felt more alone than could ever be believed.

"Be safe," Fred breathed as he held me tightly. The train whistled as I let go of Fred and gave George a hug as well, we said our good byes and I kissed Fred on the cheek before climbing onto the train.

The train ride was uneventful, I mainly slept through Harry's rants and theories about Draco's weird actions in Diagon Alley. Honestly, I was impressed with what they saw and had determined so far, I wanted to tell him he was right so that Hermione and Ron would stop rolling their eyes but I knew that would make things worse.

Instead of napping the rest of the time Harry and I were called to a compartment where Slughorn had gathered various students, and then it dawned on me as I observed each and every one of them. They were related to someone important or Slughorn found them interesting. I noticed Ginny in the corner and I smiled at her as Slughorn turned towards me.

"So you are the infamous Samantha Daxton...my, you look like your father," Professor Slughorn began. I felt vomit reach my throat.

I kept my composure and smiled, "people call me Riley actually sir."

Slughorn laughed, "you have your mother's manners I see! Its great to meet you!"

I shook his hand and nodded, "nice to meet you Professor." I stood up and smiled, "I'm sorry but I really have to get to the lavatories before all the other girls take them to change into their uniforms, see you later."

I tried not to grin as Ginny and Harry stared at me in disbelief as I exited the compartment.

"Excuse me," someone muttered as I bumped into them. I turned to say something but then I saw that blonde hair and I grabbed his arm.
