Chapter Six

Ani POV

We arrive at Richard Rodger's Theatre. Lin reminds us to not be nervous and that everyone already loves us. I'm not sure how that is possible since none of them have met me or Lily, but I just go with it.

We walk with Lin to his dressing room. "We're early, so not everyone is here. I bet Pippa, Renée, and Jazzy is though. I'll tell them to come over here so they can meet you girls", Lin sends them a text and Lily and I sit down on a comfy couch.

A few minutes later, we hear a knock at the door and Lin opens it. Phillipa, Renée, and Jazzy walk in with huge grins on their faces.

"Hello, hello, hello", Lin says in his cheerful voice,"Meet Ani and Lily", he motions at us. Lin looks at us with proud eyes, almost like a dad.

"Hey, I'm Jazmine, but everyone calls me Jazzy", Jazmine Cephas Jones introduces herself.

"I'm Renée! It's nice to finally meet you two", she says excitedly.

"Hi, I'm Phillipa, but you can call me Pippa", she gives us the sweetest smile ever.

"Cinnamon roll!", Lin whisper-shouts as he sits down beside me.

"What?", Pippa laughs.

"It's a thing that kids say", he chuckles.

"Oh, I love that", she replies happily.

"Anthony will be here in just a minute", Jazzy says looking at her phone. He must've texted her something.

"So how old are you girls?", Renée asks us curiously.

"I'm 14", I speak up.

"and I'm 11", Lily says excitedly.

"Awesome! So what do you girls like to do?", Jazzy asks. I think she is already mentally planning stuff to do together, which I'm fine with. These girls are my role models!

Lily looks at me. We haven't been able to do "fun" stuff since our parents died. I sigh,"Well, we used ride bikes a lot, I like to draw and sing, and she likes to dance", I look at Lily for a moment then continue, "-and we're both obsessed with musicals-"

"Especially Hamilton", Lily giggles and the we all laugh.

"I love riding bikes around the city", Pippa says to us.

"Me too", I smile at her.

Suddenly, Anthony Ramos walks in and stops when he sees us. "Yo! Lin, you brought them! I'm Anthony", he walks in sitting down beside Jazzy.

"Hi, I'm Ani", I tell him.

"I'm Lily", she blushes. She freaking loves Anthony Ramos and has a super cute crush. I nudge her playfully and she glares back at me.

The next hour consists of us meeting everyone. The cast is so nice and welcoming! Before we know it, Lin says that everybody needs to get ready for the show. He says we can hang out  for awhile after the show.

"Can they come to our dressing room, Lin?", Renée asks him before they leave.

"Sure!", Lin answers and we follow Pippa, Jazzy, and Renée to their dressing room.

Around Pippa's mirror are fan art and pictures of Eliza, Eliza and Ham, and the Schuyler Sisters. I can tell Pippa really likes them.

Jazzy' mirror is bordered with pictures of Maria Reynolds, the Schuyler sisters, and Peggy by herself.

Renée's has pictures of Angelica, but one thing I notice that is different is that she has pics of the cast not in costume. It's like their one big family, and that makes me really happy.

"I like all of the pictures", I say, not wanting them to think I was shy.

"Thank you! Aren't they amazing? I really love when fans give us fan art", Pippa walks over to her chair and sits in front of the mirror.

I nod and sit down on the couch in their room. Lily follows by my side and puts her head on my shoulder.

"So are you two going to watch the show?", Jazzy asks as she puts her dress on for the opening song.

"Not tonight", I reply.

Lily lifts her head and says excitedly,"but Lin said he will get us tickets for tomorrow night or Saturday."

"That's awesome! I can't wait for you both to see it", Pippa exclaims. She pauses her routine of getting ready and gives Renée a look.

Renée seems to know exactly what Pippa means and turns to us. "So tomorrow we were wondering if you two would like to go shopping with us!"

"We would love to...but I don't have any money", I say kind of disappointed. I want to go, but we have no money.

"Oh, don't worry about that. We would have so much fun", Pippa replies. Renée is helping her with her dress.

"Okay", I sigh giving in. "Thank you so much!"

"Yeah, thank you! That's really nice of you girls", Lily says content and lies her head back on my shoulder.

"Yay!", Jazzy squeals. "And no problem", she winks at us and checks her phone. "Ten minutes till places", she tells Renée and Pippa.

"How much do you wanna bet that Leslie isn't in his costume yet?", Jazzy looks and Pippa who is trying not to burst out in laughter.

"I heard that", Leslie yells as he runs past the room. The door is open so I notice that he isn't in costume.

I laugh until my ribs hurt. A few moments later, Lin walks in and asks us to come with him. He tells the girls that we will see them at intermission.

After we say a quick goodbye, we rush trying to keep up with Lin back to his dressing room.

"You guys can stay in here, if you want, and watch tv or do whatever. You'll see me during costume changes and I'll be sure to get you both when it's intermission", Lin hands me the remote.

"Thanks, Lin", I smile at him. "Good luck, tonight!"

"Thank you! I'll see you guys soon", he shuts the door behind him.

Lily and I turn on the tv and cuddle up on the couch. I hand her the remote. "What do you want to watch?", she asks snuggling closer to me.

"Once Upon A Time", I answer excitedly. We really need to catch up.

"Ohh yes", she squeals and finds it on Netflix.

After watching an episode, I notice Lily is sleepy and suggest we take a super quick nap until Lin wakes us up. She agrees and a little while later, we are both sleeping peacefully.
