Chapter Seven

Lily POV (A/N: yay!)

I feel someone gently shaking me. Ani whispers something to me, but I'm still half asleep so I don't know exactly what she said. She looks at me for a second and I focus on what she says this time,"I don't think you were listening. We slept through intermission. Lin left me a note say we were too precious and that he wanted us to rest. Apparently, the shows almost over, because I heard someone walking down the hall and they said four more songs."

"So they are on The Election of 1800", I say yawning and rubbing my eyes.

"I guess so", Ani shrugs. "Do you wanna go explore?"

"I don't want to get in trouble", I look away from her and frown.

"We won't. Plus, I just wanted to go the girl's room and talk to them about tomorrow. Although, I guess they will be back on stage in a few minutes anyways. We can stay in here if you want", Ani stands up and stretches.

I nod and look at my older sister. She's so amazing and kind and talented. The list of words that I could use to describe her would keep on going.

She raises her eyebrows at me when she notices me staring at her. I blush and look away. "What?", she says curiously but not in a mean way.

"I love you", I reply. "I was just admiring how amazing you are."

"Well, that's adorable", she plops down beside me again and I roll my eyes at her. "But seriously, you are the best little sister ever", she gives me a hug that I don't refuse.

Soon the show is over and Lin walks back in. He says that the girls want us to come to their room before we leave and then he wants us to go home and meet Vanessa. Sebastian is probably already asleep.

"Is Sebby still with the babysitter?", I ask him as we walk to the Schuyler sister's dressing room.

"V picked him up after she got off a work", Lin smiles happily. "She's excited to meet both of you."

"Do you think she will like us?", I look at him seriously and he chuckles.

"Child, why must you always ask that question. But the answer is yes! She will, I promise", Lin pats my back and knocks on the door.

"Decent!", Pippa yells and Lin opens the door.

"Hey girls! Did you have a nice nap?", Jazzy asks laughing as she is removing her makeup.

"Yep!", I say popping the "P".

Lin says he will be back when he's ready to go and he walks out of the room.

"So what time do you want to go tomorrow?", Renée asks us.

I look and Ani and she shrugs. "Whatever time works for you guys", she replies.

"Okay, how about we pick you up at 9 o'clock, go to Starbucks, then go to the mall, and maybe after shopping we can go eat lunch!", Renée asks look at us then Pippa and Jazzy for approval.

"Sounds good to me", Pippa says and Jazzy nods.

"We haven't been to Starbucks in forever", Ani whispers. I don't think she meant for us to hear but Pippa gives her a sad look.

"We would go every week on Fridays with our Mom", I try to smile, but Ani looks away and I can tell she is about to cry. "I always would get a peppermint mocha frappe and Ani would get a caramel macchiato."

"Whenever we go together", Jazzy pauses a minute and looks at Renée and Pippa,"we always get the barista to write Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy."

"Oh! We would always do Disney character. Remember, Ani?", I nudge Ani and she looks at me with tears in her eyes.

"Yeah, of course I remember", she sighs.

The girls notice Ani's behavior and they exchange a look. Quickly, Renée changed the subject.

"Well, I can't wait for tomorrow, but it's late so I'm off! I'll see you girls tomorrow and I'll tell Lin about us picking you girls up", Renée winks at us and grabs her belongings.

"See you tomorrow!", I say to her and Ani waves to her.

"Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll love ya tomorrow is only a day away", Pippa sings and Jazzy and I join her.

"Ani loves Annie", I look at her playfully, just as any little sister would if they had to chance to make such a joke.

"I've heard enough jokes about it", she rolls her eyes at me. "But the songs are still catchy."

"I like when you sing the songs to me-"

"WAIT! You sing?", Jazzy asks Ani.

I nod my head vigorously. "Well, I guess I'm okay", Ani blushes.

"Umm, you're more than okay! She was the lead in four musicals at school", I proudly tell Pippa and Jazzy.

"We must hear you sing sometime," Pippa exclaims.

"And soon! I bet you're amazing", Jazzy smiles at Ani.

"Aw thanks", Ani blushes again but looks at me. "Lily can sing too! She was the lead in two musicals."

"But they weren't even actual musicals. Just songs but together by our drama teacher that we had to 'act' out", I look at Pippa and Jazzy who are listening to everything we say.

"Still, you were a lead, and there were older kids in those", Ani pokes me. She is returning to her normal self. Me talking about mom must have gotten to her. I'm usually upset to talk about her, but I don't think she would want us to be sad; she would want us to remember the good times.

A few minutes later Lin ushers us out and we say our goodbyes to Pippa and Jazzy. When we get in the car, I remember we are going to meet Vanessa, because she stayed up to see us.

Lin talks cheerfully the whole ride home, telling me about the show and how amazing everyone is. Ani falls asleep which makes me laugh. We literally slept through intermission and she was still tired.

Lin waits a moment and looks at her then me and I smile back at him. "I have to wake her so she can meet V, but I feel bad", Lin says guilty.

"Don't worry. When we go to bed she'll be out faster than Lafayette's rap in Guns and Ships", I giggle.

Lin chuckles at me and parks the car.
