The smoke from the incense gives the divination classroom a bit of a mystique ambience. It's half lit in here from the thick red curtains and dusty windows, reminds Eleanor of what would be a shady shophouse amongst the many in knockturn alley.
"Broaden your mind!!" Professor Trelawney exclaimed, flinging her arms out in a very dramatic manner. Eleanor was taken aback for a moment, since it was after all her first lesson with this professor. Leah discreetly bend over to whisper to her, looking ahead.
"She's a little... how do I put it?"
"Weird?" Eleanor suggested, quirking her eyebrows.
"Yeah we'll take that." She pursed her lips and nodded to herself. They shared a snicker and went back to the lesson.Eleanor straightened her slytherin uniform and sat up attentively. That didn't quite work well because 10 minutes into the class she was looking at anywhere else but Professor Trelawney.
She looked over and saw Draco first, laughing at something with Pansy awfully near him. The ring on his index finger shone as he twirled his fingers casually, then he looks over and caught her staring at him. She quickly looked away, though too quick to be unnoticed. Draco smirked and returned to his friends in conversation.
She bit her lips, scolding herself in her mind and looked over at the Professor, who was at the trio's table. She heard her crying out, then dropped the cup in a frenzy and stepped back in horror.
"Dear boy... you have the Grim!" She said to Harry like she was speaking of something awfully terrible. Harry picked up the cup in shock and examined the tea leaves pattern, while another Gryffindor boy at the back explained that the Grim represented a dark omen in the wizarding world. It meant death.
Everyone gasped aloud in the classroom, and started gossiping. Harry looked around, half embarrassed, half crossed of their reaction. Because of that, class ended early and the students filed out to their next lesson with Hagrid just outside of the forest.
"I'll be right back Leah." Eleanor told her quickly before running up to the trio. Her Slytherin friend sighed and joined the other green robes down the spiraling stairs.
"Hey.." she greeted them.
"Eleanor!" Hermione smiled. She tugged at Harry's arm and brought him a little further away from the rest. "You alright Harry?" She asked, clutching her sling bag. "What happened there exactly? I heard Ron saying you were nearly attacked by a hound at Privet Drive. Has it got to do with that?"He looked unwilling at first but ended up spilling everything. From how his Aunt, marge insulted his parents and how he escaped only to be faced with a black hound. He told her he didn't know what it was though. "Apparently Sirius Black broke out of Azkaban to come after me." He looked at her calmly. "To kill me."
She frowned at how unbothered he was but given that he had been 'pursued' all his life, he was starting to get numb with all these. She sighed worriedly, putting two and two together. The incident at divination had just added fuel to the flame.
Just as she was about to open her mouth to console him, Harry brushed her off.
"Don't." He turned to look at her, "I'll be fine." She nod understandingly and walked side by side with him until they reach Hagrid's.While stepping down the stony path to the open field for their lesson, Harry was still in a lousy mood and it was written all over his face. Eleanor stopped in front of Harry and smiled warmly at him. "Smile for me Harry!" When he ignored her, she swayed his arms side to side, pleading him with puppy eyes. He finally gave in to her and laughed softly shaking his head.
Little do they know all of this went into the eyes of one who wasn't far behind. Draco ran into her shoulders from behind, causing her to cry out and stumble into Harry. Taken by surprise, he didn't catch her in time and Eleanor fell onto the ground with him. No, on top of him!
"Oww..." She lifted herself up by the elbows and saw that she had both hands on Harry's chest and his on her waist. They blinked in confusion before blushing amongst in sync, now aware of the fact that their position was rather "compromising".Draco's eyes was burning with fury, he wished he could burn Potter alive, especially parts of him that laid hands on her!
Seemingly unaware of the burning gaze from someone, Harry stands up supporting her weight before stabilizing them both. "Are you hurt?" He asked gently. She shook her head looking down, cheeks still flushed.
The eye contact shared between those two was too much for Draco to witness. No.. she can only show this expression in front of me, not Potter! He gripped his hands tightly before shoving Crabbe aside, leaving the scene hastily.
After the awkwardness has passed, they were finally with Hagrid on the open field, with tall bald trees lining the grounds. While the students chatted relentlessly getting ready for class activities, Draco dropped his book of monsters on the side and Eleanor stood with the Slytherins and Leah. He eyed her constantly to make sure she wasn't looking at Harry.
Once Draco catches something Hermione said, he retorted back with a snort. "Being a smartass again aren't you Granger? Bet you lot are happy that that big oaf is teaching us this year so you can get away with more points for your house!"
"Shut up Malfoy!" Harry came up against Draco and Draco started teasing him, with his signature smirk. He looked down at Harry, since he was taller than him by almost a head.
Then his expression suddenly turned, and he pointed to the sky crying "Dementor dementor!"
