My eyes opened slowly. Where am I? I looked around. I was clearly in a nurses office..? I had never been in Ember Square's nurses office so it could very well be that. I tried to stand but just slumped back down into the doctor bed. Looking down at my knee, I noticed it was scraped. I sighed. First my jammed finger, now a scrapped knee. What's next. Suddenly the office door swung open. Nurse Claw stepped into the room. "Oh yes, your awake I see, Miss..." the nurse started. It took me awhile to realize she was talking to me. No one ever addresses me as Miss. "Oh, April, April Yommers." I replied politely. Nurse Claw looked down at her clipboard. "Oh yes, yes, yes. You broke your finger and banged up your knee pretty terribly?" I shook my head slightly to myself. This lady is over doing everything. It was simply just a jammed finger. "Yes 'mam that's me alright," I said, spitting the words out quickly.
Nurse Claw glared at me then her clipboard. "I'm calling your parents, you'll have to get an X-ray on your finger before you cam return to school." Now she was over doing things. Why get an X-ray on a jammed finger?! I wanted to scream at this 'Nurse Claw'. She picked up the phone and spoke to my mom. Nurse Claw asked questions about my finger then wrote something down. Soon enough my mom had arrived. "Hey mom," I said as we walked out of Ember Square. My mom was walking quickly, an annoyed expression on her face. "Sooo I have to get an-"
"I know!" Mom cut me off before I could tell her 'bout the whole X-ray thing.
When we finally arrived at the doctors, we had to wait 30 minutes before we were called in. "Yommers?" A doctor said. Me and mom stood up and followed him. When we got into the examining room it took 20 minutes for the doctor to get me for the X-ray. Finally they took the X-ray and came out with the results. "Well, it's not broken. But she has to tape the finger to the other one for stability." The doctor said. So we went to Brams then the pharmacy for medicine tape. Mom didn't bother take me back to school. So we headed for the 30 minute ride home. At least nothing was broken.
