Chapter - 11

I didn't tell anyone anything, but just rushed into my room and closed the door, sat down and took deep breaths.
While I was I trying to recollect what Anna told me during her last breaths, I heard my door being knocked. Not just once, but several times.
I kept shouting, "Go away! Please!!" "Leave me for God's sake" and was crying out loud.

I then heard my mom's voice... "What happened Elsa? Are you alright? You're scaring Jessy."

My heart was pounding and I could feel my heart beating so fast.
I ran to the door and opened it.

"Elsa, you scared me badly. I'll complain to dad", Jessy was in tears.
"I'm so sorry baby. It's just that I had some dogs following and barking at me! So I got damn scared", I lied to her.
"But wait. Why dint you book a cab, Elsa?" Mom asked me.

Oh no! I couldn't tell all this to her, as they would worry a lot for me.

"I did book mom! But the car had some repairs, right here at Uncle Podger's house. So I came by walk from there."

I sat down, just closed my eyes after mom and Jessy left my room.

Evening I thought of sitting with my books for sometime, as my assignments were approaching.
After sometime, I noticed that the AC was turned on, all by itself and I screamed out loud.
Left my books and ran into the hall.
Mom came running from the kitchen and asked me what had happened.
I was damn scared and I hugged her, just kept screaming, "AC... AC..." and we went into my room.
"Oh god Elsa! I had turned on the AC just coz you were sweating. What's wrong with you?" Jessy asked me.
I just remained quiet and didn't know what to say.

After sometime, my dad got back home with some groceries.
I could hear mom telling dad, "Honey, something is seriously wrong with Elsa. Don't know if she's missing Ruby, or what. But..."
Dad cut her off asking,"Elsa? What happened to my Elsa?"
And then, mom told dad everything that happened today, while Jessy was in her room.

What was happening with me? I was in tears, not knowing what to do, but just cry! I thought of telling dad everything and gathered all the possible guts and went to him.

"Dad!" I called.
"Yes, Elsa", he answered.
"Dad, I wanna tell you something."
"Yes sweetie, go ahead!"
"Dad, I'm getting scared of... You know... Spirits... Uhh... Ghosts!"
"First stop watching your non-sense horror movies at night. And everything will be fine Elsa. You know, you scared your poor sister today!" He was angry.

I knew that dad wouldn't listen to me and wouldn't believe, even if he heard to what I wanted to tell him.

After dinner, I had a check on Jessy and she was asleep.
Went into my room and took out the kaleidoscope, which Ruby had presented to me on my 12th birthday, as I was really fond of it.

I was talking to myself, "Ruby, you know.. Things aren't going well with me, from the day you've left me. I miss you the most!" And a tear rolled down.

A voice surrounded me...
"E L S A . . . I M H E R E W I T H Y O U . . . "

I was sure it was Ruby's voice. And felt like blood re-pumped into my nerves.
But wait... How can I hear Ruby? She's no more...
Am I imagining things ???
