Chapter - 21

That night I couldn't control my emotions.
Anna, my bestie had to die such a mysterious death, that her mortal remains couldn't even be buried.
I then decided that happen what may, but I'd get the truth of Anna and Ruby's deaths into the light of all.
I planned to go to my Uncle's farm house again, the next morning.

Just then, the phone in my pocket began to vibrate.
I saw my phone lying right beside my bed, on the table.
At once, I jumped and was scared to put my hand into the pocket, to see what it was.
Somehow, gathered all the guts and took the phone out.

"Oh! Thank god, it's Anna's" I told myself and took a breath of relief.

But wait, the call was from Ruby's phone number.
"What! How? "
I was damn scared to answer that call and so, dared to somehow reject it and switched off the phone.

To my horror, that phone again vibrated. But this time, it had no display of the caller.
I had to anyway face it and so, answered the call and remained silent.

"Do you want Anna?" The voice was so harsh and scary.

"Ye... yeah!" I answered in a lower frightened tone.

"Then come out into the hall."

"Ha.. hall ? Which hall?" I was stammering.

Just then, Bruno started barking.
I couldn't leave him alone.

"Ask your dog to shut up. Otherwise, I'll shut it up forever." The voice was loud and angry.

My hands were literally shivering while opening my room's door.
As soon as I opened the door, I felt someone passed by my room.
It was too dark.

"What happened to the lights of our house ?" I asked myself.

Immediately, there was a sound from Jessy's room.
Something had fallen down.

"No! No!" I shouted and ran into her room.

I screamed to the loudest of my lungs when I hit someone, and elderly person.
I couldn't see anything, but just feel, as it was too dark.

"Mom, dad, Bruno..."  "Jessy wake up. Come and stand behind me. He'll hurt you !" I had no idea of what I was talking.

My mum came running and Jessy jumped on her bed, crying.
When mom flashed the torch, I could see that it was dad!

"Elsa! What's wrong with you ? Why are you screaming like mad? It's me! I came here to light up a candle in Jessy's room, so that she doesn't get scared."

"Oh freak. It's dad! Thank god!" I muttered.

"Stop talking to yourself and answer me Elsa. What's wrong, hun? Look at poor Jessy. She's scared like hell!" 

I could see the lights of my room on, when the curtain moved.
But how? When there's no power in the rest of the house, how come the lights are on in my room?

"Dad, look there. There's light in my room", I said pointing towards my room.

When dad went in to check, he started yelling at me.
"Elsa, is this the time for you to play pranks on us? Don't you feel a sense of responsibility towards your family ? ....... "

I cut off dad's sentence by asking, "But dad, what I do, after all?"

Dad to mom, "Oh god Lisa! What's wrong with this girl?"

"It's okay honey, relax. But what happened exactly ?" Mom asked.

"What happened? She was probably not sleepy and so thought of spooky pranks. She turned off the lights of our rooms."

"What? Dad, no! Not atall! I didn't....."

"Shut up, Elsa. Confess your foolishness and accept your mistake."

"Okay, I'm sorry everyone. "

"Sorry? Just look at Jessy! Poor thing."

"Sorry Jessy " I told and rushed into my room, unable to stop my tears.
I lied on the bed and broke out.
I couldn't bear Jessy crying, that too coz of me!
