"Mom."
"Yeah"
"I'm pregnant."

The two words Lorelai never thought she would hear from her only daughter came. With a stunned look on her face, Lorelai looks into the blue eyes that mirrors her own, and says. "I must be losing my hearing. Can you repeat that again?"

"Mom, I'm pregnant."

Rory had just peed on the stick yesterday morning. She was a week late and guessed it was coming. But when the stick showed two lines instead of one, shock still came.

She was planning on telling her mom after the wedding. But since the impromptu ceremony was last night/ early morning, she felt what better timing than now. But seeing the look of disappointment and shock and a little anger on her mom's face, regret starts creeping in. Regret that this is not the time to tell her.

"Mom, say something please."

"Well, what is there to say? Is it Paul's?"

"No, mom. It's Logan's."

"How is that possible? You haven't been to London in three months."

"He was just here almost two months ago when I started writing my book."

"Isn't he engaged? Does he know? Are you going to tell him? Are you going to keep the baby?"

"Mom wait, wait, wait. Slow down. Breathe. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I just found out yesterday. No, Logan doesn't know. Yes, he's engaged. I don't know if I should tell him or not because I don't want him to call off the wedding. I might just raise this baby on my own."

Lorelai looks at her daughter with worry. Hugs her and whispers in her ear, "no matter what you decide, you will never be alone. I am here. So is Luke. So is the whole town of Stars Hollow."

At the mention of her stepfather's name, reality sinks in even deeper. "Mom, please don't tell Luke yet."

"Honey, I can't keep secrets from him. Last time any of us did, it ended our relationship and took almost a decade to recover from it."

"Just wait until I have decided on what to do."

"Ok. I'll let you decide when to tell him. Now come on. We have to prepare for the ceremony this town has been waiting on for over a decade."

**********
As the two Gilmore girls walks home hand in hand from the gazebo, Lorelai was in contemplation. Grandma at 48 years old when less than a year ago, she was just at Dynasty Makers flipping through a photo album and watching a slide of potential surrogates, trying hard to explain to Luke what surrogacy means. And now, in about 8 months give or take a couple of weeks, she's going to be a grandmother.

How time changes. Rory does have options. But Lorelai knew from the beginning, Rory was going to keep the baby. She can see the determination in her eyes. But now just to keep it a secret until Rory decides it's time to share the news.

The house is empty. Luke probably went to Liz and TJ's house to change. Rory needs it to just be her and her mom.

As she puts on her bridesmaid dress in the old room she grew up in, she reminisces the memories this room still holds. Her Yale paraphernalia still hanging on the wall. The same twin sized bed from childhood.

"Oh, gosh. How could I put myself in the same position again?" Rory thought. This is the same bed she slept with a married man. Yes, a man who loved her but was still in a committed relationship. Now years later, still making the same mistake as before. "Never again. I won't make the same mistake again. I refuse to because now I have another life to think of."

She puts her hand on her belly. Looks at her mirror pushing her stomach out just to see what it would look like. She touches her stomach and whispers "We will be fine, little baby. My mom had me at sixteen. I turned out fine. We will be fine."

"Rory!!!! Help your loving mom. I'm in a wardrobe crisis. I need you!!!!"

With a little giggle and a pat on her stomach, Rory rushes up the stairs to help her mom with the zipper.
