Rory expected Jess to pick her up. So it is a pleasant surprise to see her mom and Luke.

"Mommy!!!" "Rory!!!"

The two women run into each other arms extended. They bump into each other and fall to the ground in a heap of giggles. Luke stands close by watching, trying to hold back the laughter. As Rory and Lorelai try to disentangle themselves, Luke heads to baggage claim to grab Rory's suitcases.

"How was London?" Lorelai asks as she pushes herself off the ground.

"Cloudy and cold. No sighting of William or Kate though."

"How's Logan? Is he still engaged?"

"I will tell you more later. Hey Luke."

"Hey Rory. How were things across the pond?"

"You know. Cold and dreary. Had some unfinished business to deal with. Did you have fun in Hawaii?"

"Eh. It was ok. Didn't do much. Your mom wanted me to run like Baywatch. That wasn't gonna happen. Everything is expensive there. Went on a hike while your mom did some window shopping. Nice waterfall. I'm just glad Jess didn't burn down the diner while I was gone."

"Oh Luke. You know Taylor won't let that happen." Lorelai chimes in, as she gives a peck to Luke. "You got all your bags, honey?"

"Yup, mom."

"What did you pack these bags with? Bricks?" Luke asked in exasperation.

"No. just books, clothes and gifts to people."

Rory practically skips in excitement arm in arm with her mom out of the airport into Luke's green truck.

Two hours later, while Luke stopped by the diner to check on Jess and the lunch crowd, Rory and Lorelai are in the kitchen alone. They are eating some Chinese food from Al's Pancake House. Part of Lorelai's agreement with Luke is that even though they're married, she can still order some takeout at Al's.

Lorelai finally starts the conversation that has been eating her up inside for the past week. "So, Rory. We are alone. Luke is at the diner. So tell me the truth. How was London?

"Oh mom. It was an emotional roller coaster. Seeing Logan again. I just felt like I couldn't be strong enough."

"Strong enough to what? You never told me what you decided."

"Well I decided to keep the baby. And have Logan not be in my life. He's engaged and I just can't be the cause of another breakup. I asked him to just let me go. I won't stop him from being in Bean's life. But I plan on raising the baby on my own. We just have to work out the details like visitation and child support payments."

"Bean?" Lorelai looks to Rory for an explanation.

"Oh, yeah. That's the nickname I have chosen for the baby. I can't drink coffee but I love the smell of coffee beans."

"That's cute. So Logan is still getting married?"

"Yeah. I kept thinking back to Lindsay and Dean and I just can't do it again. I saw you and Luke dancing and being in love last week at your wedding. And I knew right then and there, I want that also. I want someone to look at me the way Luke looks at you. And for that to happen, I can't be the other woman. I have to find a man who loves me alone. Logan will always be there in my life because we share a child. But he can't give me what I want. So, yeah. Logan and I are over. This time when I said goodbye, I meant it."

"So what are your plans next? I saw you applied for a job at the inn as a maid. Are you gonna put the book in the back burner?"

"I plan to keep writing my book. But I need the money to take care of my baby. And maybe move out on my own. So of course I applied for a job as a maid at the inn. I have always said the person I most want to be like is my mom. Also I have contacted some small publications with some ideas for articles. Hopefully they follow through. I am still editor for the Gazette. I just have to make some changes to the paper."

"You know you don't have to move out?"

"I know mom. But I want to. You and Luke are newlyweds. I wouldn't want to be in your way."

"You will never be in the way. Have you made an appointment yet with the doctor?"

"Yeah. This Friday at 2. Mom can you come with me?"

"You don't even have to ask kid."

Rory is now finally asleep. Jet lag has sunk in. Lorelai is alone in the kitchen washing dishes. Cleaning up after their meal.

Lorelai has had a lot to think about this past week. Knowing she will be a grandmother in eight months scare and excite her. She has respected Rory's wishes to stay silent with Luke. But the secret is eating her up inside.

Rory is lost right now. But she will find her way. Lorelai is still angry that for the past two years she was having an affair with an engaged man. But at least now, Rory knows she's worth more than being a side chick. That's a step forward.

"Luke and I will help her and the baby. She will not raise that baby alone." Lorelai said to herself. Now if only she could tell Luke about the baby.
