The bell rings as the diner door opens. Jess looks up ready to give his customary greeting and stops cold when he sees who walks in.

"Hey Rory. Want a seat at the counter?"

"Sure, Jess. Thanks."

"Usual this morning?" As Jess pulls out a big mug ready to pour some coffee.

"No, thanks Jess. Can I have an orange juice?"

Jess raises his eyebrows at Rory. In all the years he has known Rory, she has never turned down a cup of coffee. "Sure Rory. Tall glass of orange juice. Anything else you would like to eat this morning?"

"Can I get a menu?"

"Are you ok, Rory? You have been coming here almost everyday for years. I'm shocked you need a menu."

"Yeah, I'm just fine Jess. I just want to try something new."

"Ok."

"Hey, Jess. I need a refill of coffee. And why has the price of toast gone up again?" asks Kirk from across the diner.

"I'll be with you Kirk. Give me a minute. Rory, are you sure you're ok?"

"Yeah. Just go help Kirk."

As Jess walks away to help other customers, Rory looks at the coffeemakers in front of her. Rory would really love some coffee this morning. She had to wake up extra early to help her mom find the right outfit for the plane and do last minute packing for the honeymoon.  But it's bad for the little bean inside of her.

Rory doesn't like lying to Jess. But she is determined to tell Logan first. Logan, being the father of the bean, has the right to know before anyone else.

Rory has a long to do list today. She has to open up the Stars Hollow Gazette. Maybe persuade Doose to pay her. Apply for other jobs. Maybe even apply for work at the inn. But more importantly, she has to call her doctor's office to set up an appointment.

Rory never doubted in her mind she was going to keep the bean. But she needs to make sure the baby is healthy. That the test wasn't a false positive. And that she gets a prescription for prenatal pills.

"Hey, Rory. Have you decided on your order yet?"

"Yeah sure. Do you have grapefruit?"

Rory laughs at the looks of shock in Jess's and Cesar's faces. "I'm kidding. I would just like some oatmeal with sliced bananas if you don't mind."

After breakfast, Rory heads to Stars Hollow Gazette. Rory loved this newspaper once. So much so that she subscribed to it while a student at Yale. But now this office is just a reminder of how much her life has changed.

Rory chooses this time to take advantage of an empty office. She picks up the phone to call the Women's Health clinic in Hartford.

"Good morning, Women's Health Clinic Hartford offices. How may I help you?"

"Hello my name is Lorelai Gilmore. I'm not sure what to ask for. Two days ago I peed on a stick and found out I was pregnant. I would like to set up on an appointment just to check if it's true and get prenatal pills. And talk to a doctor if possible."

"Sure thing, Lorelai."

"Please, ma'am. Call me Rory."

"Ok. Well, our next opening of appointment is next Friday at 2:00 PM."

"Yeah. I'll take that. Thank you so much."

Rory hangs up. Pulls out her to do list from her purse and crosses out "set an appointment with OB-GYN."

Next on the list. Look for a job.

The computer in the Gazette is about the same age as Rory. So looking for a job on the computer is not an option right now. Too bad she forgot her laptop at home.

Rory pulls out her cell phone. Looks through her contacts list and pulls up Logan's number.

Rory has lost count on how many times she has pulled up Logan's number ready to press send but is discouraged to do so. This is a conversation that should be had in person. Not over the phone. Logan is owed that much. Bean is owed that much.

Lunch hour is finally here. Rory walks out of the office and heads to Stars Hollow Books. She pulls out baby books and only when she is ready to pay for it does she realize there might be a problem. The moment she goes to the front and hands over the books to Andrew, he will know she's pregnant. How does she solve this problem.

Andrew is finally done with the customer in front of her. When it's Rory's turn, Andrew reaches his hand for the books so he can ring them.

"Andrew I can't let you ring the books. I can't let you see them."

"Well how am I going to ring them up then? I need to at least get the prices from you."

"I'll just read you the prices, Andrew. This one is $15.99"

"Rory, can you just hand me the books?"

Rory gives a fifty dollar bill to Andrew. "This should cover everything. Can I just get a brown paper bag?"

And Rory sneaks out the door with a bag of her baby books.
