It's Sunday morning. Logan is still in bed. He hasn't slept in a couple of days. Odette, his fiancé, has certainly taken notice of this. But Logan has chosen not to divulge why he is so worried.
On Thursday, he received a surprise text from Ace. "Hey Logan. Look we need to talk in person. I bought tickets to London for Saturday. Any chance we can meet up on Sunday? It's very important. It's something we need to discuss in person."
Luckily Odette was leaving for France on Saturday so it would not be a problem seeing Ace. It's just the tone of the text leaves Logan worried.
Logan has always wanted Rory in his life. He was really devastated when Rory turned down his proposal almost ten years ago. But he has moved on. He truly fell in love with Odette. Yes, originally it was supposed to be like an arranged wedding but over time he truly fell for her.
It was fate that he ran into Rory again. They both had mutually agreed to the Vegas arrangement. Logan always had a feeling that what he was doing with Rory was wrong. It's just that it's Ace. He always had a hard time turning her down.
Their last night together in New Hampshire was something he holds special in his heart. Their last goodbyes were something he will never forget. But he knew before he even asked Rory was going to turn down his offer to still be with him in London. But he just had to try.
Seven weeks later, to get a text from Ace was an unexpected but happy surprise. Today is the day he gets to see Ace one more time. Logan looks at the clock and it's 9:00. Ace will be here at noon. Logan has a feeling whatever led her here is going to change his life.

At 11:30, Rory heads out of her hotel to hail a taxi. Rory can't trust herself to drive. She still has a hard time with the whole opposite side of the road.
She will probably get to Logan's a little early. But it's ok. Rory has made up her mind on what she's going to do. And now is the time to do it.
Twenty minutes later, Rory rings the doorbell to a familiar house. Logan opens the door with a big smile on his face.
"Hey Ace. Long time no see." He pulls her into a hug. Logan smells so good. A mixture of cigar and aftershave. Rory always loved Logan's smell.
"Hey, Logan. Thanks for seeing me in such short notice. Can I come in?"
"Of course. Sorry the house is a little mess. But can I take your coat?"
As Logan helps with Rory's jacket, the mounting tension fills the room.
"Coffee or tea?"
"Tea for me, Logan. Thanks."
"So what brought on this surprise visit?"
As Logan boiled hot water for their tea, Rory sits on the couch waiting for Logan to join her. Rory sits twiddling her thumbs in anticipation for the conversation she's been dreading.
"Here you go, Ace. Steaming mug of Earl Grey."
"Thank you."
"So what's up, Ace? I know you didn't fly over here just to have tea."
"Logan, can you please sit?"
Logan sits and looks at Rory. He's surprised to see tears streaming down her cheeks. Logan reaches out for Rory's hands and holds them. He forces Rory to look at him. "Rory, what's wrong? Please tell me. You know I don't like to see you cry."
"Logan, I'm pregnant."
Logan drops Rory's hands, gets up off the couch and starts to pace. "Are you sure it's mine? Not Paul's?"
"No it's not Paul's. It's yours."
"We used protection."
"Condoms break and I forgot to take my pill."
"Ok." Logan combs through his hair with his fingers. "Are you going to keep it?"
"Of course I am Logan. That's why I'm here. I needed to let you know."
"Ok. Rory, I want to be in the baby's life. I can call off the wedding and we'll be together. And I will support you and the baby. He or she will have my name. And we can be together like we were meant to be."
"No, no, no. That's not what I want. I don't want to be the end of another marriage. Look. Marry Odette. I know you love her. I will be fine. Bean will be fine."
"Bean?" Logan looks at Rory quizzicality.
"It's a nickname I chose for the baby. I have been craving coffee. And I love the smell of coffee beans. So I just started calling the baby Bean."
Logan gave a hearty laugh. The sound broke the tension since the pregnancy announcement. "Rory, what do you need from me? I will support you in any way you need."
"Logan, I will never deny you access to Bean. But you have a life here with Odette. I don't want to ruin it for you. I will keep you updated on the pregnancy and when the baby is born we can work out visitations later."
"Ok. I'll be in the states in a couple of months. Have to check in with some newspapers our family owns. I'll check in when I'm there."
"Ok. Just call me before you come. I can set up an appointment with my OB so we can see Bean together."
Rory finishes her tea, gets up ready to leave. "I better go."
"Please stay. I don't want us to end. Odette isn't here. She's in Paris."
"Logan, that's exactly why I can't. My life has to change. I can't be the other woman. I need to be someone's "only woman." Please don't make this harder for me."
Logan pulls her to a tight hug. With tears in his eyes, he realizes it's time to let her go. "You will forever be my Ace."
"I jump you jump, Jack."
As Logan helps Rory back into her coat, Rory comes to the realization this is the end for Ace and Logan. They will always be bonded because of Bean, but this is goodbye. With a kiss on the cheek, Rory leaves Logan behind.
