Sorry if my chapters are short but instead of writing massive chapters with many ideas in them, I'm trying to keep different ideas seperate.🍫Choclatey Claire
I said my goodbyes to Eleckra and headed home in a hurry. It would be my last dinner there until I finished my apprenticeship, so I wanted to get the most out of it I can.
The queen believed family distracted apprentices too much, and should not see them whilst completing their appenticeship. Queen Eleanor was a good queen, although some might say a little harsh on her subjects. While my little sister Alli was annoying and my parents made a massive fuss over everything, I didn't want to say good bye for however long my apprenticeship was.No one really knew what sea witches did, just that they had both power and prestige in our society. Naturally, I was curious to find out why.
When I got home, my orca following me and occasionally doing a loop the loop, I found Alli, Dad and Mum seated at the head of the table." Hey guys. "I said , lamely.
" What kind of dolphin did you get? What job? Tell me, tell me!" My little sister rambled.
With a smile, I told her" Well, I got a funny male orca. I haven't got a name-"
I was cut off by Mum " What?! An orca, that must mean... You're a apprentice sea witch aren't you?"
"We're so happy for you darling-"
Dad was interrupted by Alli asking " What is a sea witch? "
" I'm not sure exactly, but they're supposed to protect us from Zereste's monstrous children." I answered and she shuddered at the goddess of evil's name. Her children were the reason we needed sea witches in the first place, to protect our people. We had warriors from the Brotherhood of Arooshum around the outskirts of our kingdom that looked after day to day business, but when things got serious they called in the Sea Witches. We spent the rest of the night talking about everything and nothing and I let the familiar family babble wash over me. It was soothing, hearing my family bicker and tease the way they always did. I knew this was going to be the biggest downside of my apprenticeship; not seeing my family. All too soon, the time came for me to grab my things and say my goodbyes.
"Have you got everything? " Dad asked .
" Will you visit loads? " Alli pleaded .
" You know I can't. "
"But-"
"It's the law Alli." Mum scooped us all into a squishy family hug and for a moment it was bliss.
" I have to go. Goodbye , love you guys." I swam forwards and didn't look back.
