Miara's POV
The four of us, our mentors, and Selevene all leapt into action. We all hurriedly grabbed our orcas and dolphins and swum as quickly as we could to The Palace. I was greatful our mentors were coming with us, but for Selevene,  I couldn't say as much. She wasn't even invited by the Council had apparently wanted her to come, at least that's what she told us.

The swim to The Palace was filled with tension. I could tell Eleckra was going to explode soon, if she didn't get some gratitude soon. After coming from the exuberant street celebration, the cynical atmosphere of Selevene and some of her supporters was getting to her. Upon arriving at The Palace I was in awe of it's spectacular design. However, we had no time for an architecture lesson, we had to see the Queen.

We were led straight to the throneroom by an offial looking footman. We entered a ginormous and opulent room  but the luxurious trappings couldn't even compare to its mistress. Her fine boned structure and flawless skin was stunning. A small but elegant diadem was nestled into her beautiful golden hair. It seemed as if the room had been constructed to accentuate her hair. Then again, it probably was.

Upon her marble throne she assessed our raggledy group. After weeks on the road the four of us were looking alittle worse for wear. Our mentors and Selevene were in a better state but still looked rather bedraggled from the speedy swim here. She looked past that and beamed at us. My previous worries of not being given a chance were flung out the window as her smile lit up the room.

Selevene cleared her throat. "Your Majesty, I'm honoured to see you again. May I ask why we have been summoned?" She asked with the fakest tone of respect I've ever heard in my life.

"I don't remember summoning you here." Queen Eleanor said with disregard.

"I came because I was conductingthe Council meeting when they were summoned and the Council wanted a messenger to know what this was about. " Selevene replied smoothly.

"And Anarkra or Mithara couldn't have done that?" The Queen asks distrust evident in her voice.

" Yes but-" Selevene trained to explain herself but stopped when the Queen's eyes began to glow gold.

Selevene's body went limp and she cried out in pain. The Queen's golden aura grew until it filled the room. I was filled with a strange tingling feeling. Suddenly, she stopped and the golden light faded out. Looking back, what happened next was scarier than the golden light.

Queen Eleanor was livid." You plan to overthrow me?!" She demanded and we could feel the power in her voice. Even though her fury wasn't directed at us, whatever power she had was forcing us to submit. We all bowed deeply, while Selevene cowered on the marble floor.

" Yes your Majesty." She replied with tremors in her voice.

" Tell me what you were going to do. " Queen Eleanor commanded in an even scarier whisper-soft voice with a sharp edge to it.

"I gathered SWHC members and I was going to approach the Brotherhood of Warriors  but then Tempeste became a problem. I was hoping to win more supporters at the Council meeting today by making Anarkra and Mithara look bad, through their apprentices. "She mumbled, still cowering away from the Queen.

"How were you going to do this?!" She demanded. Selevene looked like she was going to protest but the Queen's eyes glowed gold once more.

Selevene reluctantly started speaking. "We were going to request your attendance at one of our SWHC and Brotherhood of Warriors meeting. We were going to subdue your guards while I accused you of tyranny. After your hearing we were going to give you a public execution for your crimes. As you have no heirs we would have seized power and run Aquata free from your interference. We'd have free reign with our powers, the way Alchitâe wants it to be. The public would have appreciated us, not just respecting us for no other reason then they were told to." Selevene, no longer cowering, spoke passionately.

The eight of us just floated there, speechless. The Queen and Selevene were having a silent glare off. Guards rushed in, breaking whatever trance we had all been in. Queen Eleanor snapped out of it and an apologetic smile crept onto her face.

" Sorry about that, my powers don't always contain themselves to who I aim them at." She said.

" If I may ask, what powers, your Majesty? "Anarkra asked respectfully.

"Alchitâe grants all queens and their consorts three powers. The first is the ability to see where a person's loyalties lie, the one I used on Selevene at first. The second is the ability to cast a truth telling spell and the last is to inspire courage in my subjects. Loyalty, truth, and courage, the three most important qualities in my role. As I was trying to say before we were rudely interrupted, I would like to thank you on behalf of Aquata. You have saved our beautiful home and for this I will have you honoured. The four of you will become a special unit, you do work extordianarily well together. As for your mentors, good luck with these ones. Only kidding, you will be needed to help me sort out the Councils, after which I will make sure you are rewarded." It was Mithara who stopped our Queen's monolouge by timidly asking,

"Is that all, your Majesty? " The Queen gave a bewildered nod."Then I, and I believe my friends would too, want to return to the celebration ." A small smile of understandinglit up her face and she said,"Of course, just ask your mentors."

We swam out of the throneroom in high spirits.  Selevene had left behind a large mess, but for now that was forgotten. We had just saved the world and now it was time to celebrate.
