Celebration

Super busy as per usual but I'm  writing now and that's the main thing. I also don't want this story to end as this is the last chapter.

Miara's POV 

After Queen Eleanor dismissed us our weary group split to head home. Teylin was mad at me for leaving him behind at Zephrylle but I was too tired to care. When Anarkra and I got back to the cottage, I quickly unladened Teylin of my bags and took care of him. As soon as I finished I practically fell into bed, into an exhausted slumber.

I woke up to hear the party was still going. A wave of excitement crashed through me as I remembered what was going on. I quickly mind linked the other three to tell them to get there arses to the town square ASAP. After what we've just done, I thought we deserved this chance to celebrate.

I ran a comb through my pixie hair and was just about to leave when I saw Anarkra floating at the door." Where do you think you're going? "She asked dryly and I gulped inwardly.

" To the party?" I said, unsure of where I stood.

" Oh really?" She asked with a lilt in her voice. I nodded, unsure of what else to do." Well you best be on your way then, shouldn't you? Don't look like that, I'm only messing with you. You saved Aquata. How couls I not let you go?" Anarkra said with a chuckle. I crossed the threshold as Anarkra called out," Have fun with Kenrita. "with an amused smile across her face.

I reached the town square to find my friends waiting for me." Miara!" Eleckra squealed and rushed over to hug me, after Marco reluctantly released her from his side.

" 'Bout time the one who told us to get our arses here got her arse here. " Kenrita teased. 

"Where do you guys want to go?" Marco asked,  as he swum to Eleckra's side. I took a glance at the festival around us. There were groups of people dancing, musicians playing, performers entertaining the crowds and food a drink flowing.

"Let's dance. Miara, will you join me ?" Kenrita asked with a sly smile.

" I'd love to." I replied. Eleckra pulled Marco into the crowd and they began to dance. Taking my eyes away from them, I saw Kenrita extend her arm. I took it.

Kenrita's POV 

As we swum onto the impromptu dance floor,the musician started up a new tune. It had a jaunty beat with a cheerful sounding tune. It wasn't note perfect but it was perfect for the occasion. A circle began to form,spinning around and around, and Miara and I somehow ended up in the middle of it. I spun her round and round, keeping in time to the music. Everyone was laughing and getting dizzier and dizzier. The song ended and I spun her into me and she doubled over in giddy laughter.

We danced for a few more songs before going to watch an illusionist's show. Eleckra came with us ,even though she knew her ability would see straight through it. We saw a few card tricks and a guppie being taken out of behind someone's ear, before the crowd started to mumble in excitement. "What's going on? "Eleckra asked excitedly.

Marco pointed to a fire wielder dressed in ceremonial robes and speculated,"By the looks of that fire mage, I'd say fireworks."Miara clapped her hands and flicked her tail excitedly. 

"Ooh, I love fire mages!" She exclaimed. 

"Yeah, that's why you love me so much." I said with a smirk. I always  have and always will take great pleasure in teasing Miara.

The as mage set the water ablaze I stood transfixed by the beauty and fire of my element. A sudden wave of sorrow camr over me." What's that look for? " Miara asked when she turned around and saw my expression .

" Just remembering how fire can be beautiful and deadly. I think I've been going about my ability to the wrong way. " I replied. 

Miara's expression darkened and she said,"Don't say that. If you hadn't of used your ability the way you did, none of us would be able to see this beauty. Your gift is beautiful. You are beautiful. "With that she caught me off guard and placed her lips on mine. It was the sweetest most tender kiss I'd ever had and it sent shivers down my spine. I pulled away to ask,

" Miara will you be my girlfriend? "Instead of answering me, she captured my lips in hers and a rush of exhilaration coursed through me. I had a feeling everything was going to work out just fine.
