On the way home, Julia and Hwoarang hold hands, walking back to Julia's. When we arrive, Julia turns around in awe, in return, a surprise kiss is planted on her lips.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Hwoarang finished stroking her hair. We leave dropping Hwoarang off and Jin walking me home. As I turn, he leans in touching his lips against mine for seconds until I broke it off.
"Jin what are you doing?" I glare without meaning to.
"I thought I'd be nice, but obviously that didn't work out."
"Jin, look you're a really nice-"
"I've heard this already, Aya why can't you just be with me?" I turn away opening the door and pausing. Tilting my head to the side, I reply,
"Because I don't want to be with you for the time being." I leave him standing outside.
"Fuck." I hear his words loud enough; I believe I'm the one who has messed this up.

The Formal is in two days, and I don't want to go.
"Aya, you have to go!" Christie encourages, but I don't see the point.
"Jin will be there, and I don't deserve to go."
"Girls!" Asuka comes running towards the table with what I assume is gossip.
"What's the gossip now?" Lili rolls her eyes flicking her hair.
"Aya you're not gonna like it, but Jin is going to the formal with Xiaoyu." Eyes widen, I turn away scoffing.
"I am just not going."
"Aya, you don't have to worry about him, just hang out with Hwoarang and I." Julia implies, I sigh nodding.
"Fine, I guess I'll come." The bell goes, and I head to my locker in annoyance attempting to act as if everything was normal. At the lockers I see Xiaoyu feeling up Jin's chest at the lockers, and I turn away. I stalk my way to the class and sit in the designated seat. Unfortunately, I have to sit next to Jin, and I know it will be nothing but awkward. Jin sits, and I ignore him entirely. He stares at me for a while, and I just ignore. Mr Chaolan tells us to write down notes for the last period.
"Are we going to talk about what happened yesterday?"
"I don't think we need to discuss this right now." I reply with annoyance.
"Why not?"
"Just leave me alone Kazama." I call him by his last name, meaning I was serious about everything. Around a minute left, I begin packing up leaving as soon as the bell goes. I quickly take my bag from my locker, slamming and off.
"Aya, wait!" His voice irritates me, I want to scream.
"Go away!" I shout, but he is oblivious to my seriousness.
"Aya I just want to talk!" Jin grabs my hand, but I yank it back as the tears stream from my eyes.
"Don't! Just leave me alone! You've done enough! Just go back to your stupid life! Go fuck yourself!" I screech, Hwoarang and Julia seen the scenario in a distance.
"Jin, I think you should actually go." Julia suggests, he grunts sauntering in the opposite direction. Hwoarang holds me as I let myself cry in guilt.
"Ssh, it's okay, you're okay." Hwoarang rubs the small of my back comforting me. Julia and Hwoarang walk me the rest of the way home, and leave me to go to my room where I will sulk and deal with the responsibility of Jin's emotions. I feel nothing. I don't move a muscle or even blink, I stare into space replaying the exact scenario play in my mind.
"Aya?" Rika's voice soothing, yet disruptive of my thoughts comes and sits herself on my bed, "Aya, what's going on? What's happened?"
"I've messed everything up," I continue to sook wiping the tears away "I yelled at Jin because I was mad at him, and I-I-" I can't breathe at this stage, the start of a panic attack begins.
"It's okay, oh sweetie, don't you worry about him, you have been through a lot lately, I'm sure he can understand. I know it's hard, boy I had a hell of a time going through high school, but I married the right man and look where I am today, I couldn't be any prouder of you, just remember that okay?" I nod leaning my head on her shoulder. For once, her comfort was my way of forgetting the past. To forget about what happened to my previous adopted parents, to forget what happened with Xiaoyu and Jin, to forget who I was for one second and realise there's more to life then we imagine.
"Rika, the formal is on Friday night, and I was wondering if I could stay at Julia's the night?" I ask suddenly she couldn't refuse.
"Of course, oh and I have something for you," She gets up turning to face me "Close your eyes!" She exclaims, I do as instructed awaiting on Rika. She takes a while, only a minute or two before she tells me to reopen my eyes.
"Oh my god!" I open my eyes to see a full length beaded gown sparkle before my eyes. It shone red with a slit on the right side, also strapless. I honestly thought this dress was perfect.
"You like it?"
"Like it? I love it! Rika thank you so much!" I embrace her feeling joy overcome the sadness.
"Thanks..." I pause exhaling before finishing, "Mom."
