"Uh, Aya?"
"Mmm?" I groan realising I was snuggling and laying on top of Julia.
"Aya!" I look up; dead to the world, yet awake to in extent that I could hear.
"Oh right. I'm sorry I didn't realise I slept on top of you, I hope Hwoarang doesn't mind." I giggle at my own joke, Julia chuckled along.
"Hey, you get to see Jin today! How exciting!" Julia enthused, but I throw a pillow at her before starting a friendly Pillow fight.
"Good morning you two." Rika comes in of nowhere with two cups of tea on a tray for both Julia and I.
"Mom... What's this for? You didn't have to do that." I noticed she blushed at the word 'Mom'.
"Oh sweetie, I'm just so happy that you had such a great night!"
"Thank you, Mom." I give her a gentle hug.
"Daichi and I are going out for the day, we're going to head over to the Museum if you and Julia would like to join us." Rika offered.
"Thanks Mom, but Julia and I already had plans."
"That's okay, you two enjoy your day, we're leaving now." Rika kissed my forehead before leaving. Julia and I watched as they both got into the car, leaving the house to just Julia and I.
"Okay they're gone."
"And now, for this." Julia had pulled out a pregnancy test from her bag.
"Julia! What? Since when do you keep pregnancy tests in your bag?" You tilt your head.
"Oh, that's just part of the emergency kit I carry around, Michelle makes me because she thinks I'm not a virgin."
"And? Are you?"
"Of course I am! I'm still waiting for the right moment with Hwoarang."
"Wow, Jin and I aren't even dating and I've slept with him... Anyways I should go take the test." I take box from Julia, taking it out of its packaging before heading towards the bathroom. I awkwardly sit there whilst I wait. Once done, I take some paper towel setting the test as I wash my hands before opening the bathroom door.
"And now, we wait."
"Well this shouldn't take too long, I am for sure not fooling around unless I'm wearing some kind of protection." I admit, Julia giggles before sipping on her tea. I grab mine taking minor sips.
"I think we can look now!" Julia calls knowing she was looking at it.
"What? What's the result?" I can see on Julia's face that this mustn't be good.
"Don't scare me like that!" I give her a playful shove knowing that I will not be having any children anytime soon.
"I got you good!"
"Now we've got to just bag it a few times, put it in someone else's bin and-"
"Why don't you just put it in the bin like a normal person?"
"Because I don't want them finding out like at all. If they see a pregnancy test in their bin, they will kill me. Now I'm just going to put it in the neighbour's bin, no big deal."
"Alright, you do you Aya." Julia smirked. The both of us got ourselves ready for the day, Julia made sure I looked good, she knew of course that Jin was really wanting to see me, she insisted on doing my make-up. She sat me down trying to make me look as gorgeous as I could be.
"Alright! You look super cute!" Julia complimented; I blush.
"So, you think I am Jin-worthy now?" I scoff, Julia rolls her eyes before giving a great smirk.
"I text Hwoarang before saying that I'd drop you off near the park, he's taking me out on some surprise date would you believe." Julia's cheeks flushed with scarlet, I felt happy for her. She gets the rest of her stuff; I lock up before getting into Julia's car with her for the first time. It felt weird to be next to her whilst she drove, but I was proud of her for getting her license unlike myself.
Not even a five-minute drive, I open the car door before turning back and giving Julia a tight squeeze.
"Thank you, Julia. You are the sweetest best friend I have ever had."
"I'm just glad you had moved here."
"Me too." The both of us break off the heart-warming hug, I get out before Julia waves goodbye to leave for her date with Hwoarang, and I saunter towards the park benches. I was the first one to arrive. Jin must be running late.
"Ugh, what are you doing here?" her voice struck me, I exaggerate the exhale before looking up to Ling Xiaoyu.
"I am waiting for someone. What about you? Do you plan on trying to fight me again?"
"No, I'm waiting for someone too."
"Oh yeah." I stop to think for a moment. Did he... Did you do this Jin Kazama?
"Look, I need to apologise for my stupid actions. I'm not usually like that. Jin and I, we're close but I think I get overly protective of him because all he does is believe he is a monster, but deep inside I know he isn't." I look over to her in my surprise, I had not expected any apology from Xiaoyu.
"I don't understand, what's with the sudden change of heart?"
"Every other girl has either given up or is to scared to face me. You though are very different. I realised how much I love him, but as a really good friend. Jin is probably sick of me by now, but if I can't get through to him, then maybe you can."
"Xiaoyu? What are you talking about?"
"One time, when he was speaking to Hwoarang I was hiding around the corner; this may upset you, but what I heard him say had triggered something inside me to just want to protect him."
"What did you hear?"
"Jin said to Hwoarang, that he plans on killing himself once his father passes away, he doesn't want any offspring if he can help it. He wants to end this curse of the Devil's power." From shock and despair, my eye water leaks from its sockets.
"If only I had realised this earlier, perhaps maybe then I wouldn't have tried to fight back. I'm no good for protection, I can't protect someone like him."
"But Aya, you have to."
"Why? Why me?"
"Because it's fate."
