Road to peace

EVEN AT SCHOOL

I was so embarassed to a point I ran way with absolutely no idea where to go. I ended up lost. It took me around half an hour to find the principal's office in this huge school.

"I am his assistant,he is busy right now" The lady at the desk told me when I asked for the principale.

She had at least two pounds of makeup on her face. ugh,disgusting.

She handed me my schedule then told me where my first class was. Half way the hall, I heard the lady from earlier yell that class had started ten minutes ago.

Great. Late on my first day of school.

I broke into a fast-paced stride to get to my class. My first classes door was already open so I slowly walked in. I felt everyone's eyes on me and it made my heart pounding fast.

The teacher was the one who broke the silence that had come over the class.

"Are you the new student? You must be Hailey Williams"

"Yes, I am" I nerveously said, playing with my sleeves.

"Welcome Hailey,I am your English teacher,Mrs.Jim" She said with a smile

"Now take a seat,so that we can begin the lesson"

I rolled my eyes around to look for an empty seat, I stopped when I saw a pair of eyes that caught mines.

OH GOD. NOT HIM AGAIN.

Seeing as I am extremly lucky today, guess what? The only empty seat was in front of no one other than the guy from this morning.

I quietly made my way to the empty spot ignoring his gaze, the whispers and laughs eochoed in the classroom.

" Isn't she the girl from this morning in the bus?"

"Oh,you are right ,it was actually a funny show"  A girl let out with a laugh.

"But I still can't believe James helped her, oh my god."

Well, it is nothing new for me, I got used to these things.

"Hey Hailey..Are you okay?" Someone whispered from behind.

I turned my head and coldy replied "None of your business."

He tried constantly to talk me but all I did was ignoring him till he gave up.

The rest of the session was really quite and to be honest, I didn't really payed attention.

The school bell rang signaling the end of the fifth period, which means I am one class away to call it a day.

I was leaving the classroom and go check my locker when a girl spoke to me.

"Hello Hailey,I am Emma...the girl sitting beside you"  She said with a huge shiny smile.

Should I just ignore her?

I thought Emma was really beautiful and cute compared to me, she was well dressed, her blonde curly hair came down her shoulders completed with some charming gray eyes and rose lips.

I hesitated a moment before I replied with a smile in my turn "Nice to meet you Emma" we both walked toward our lockers.

"Well well lockers buddys and english buddys" Emma said laughing.

"Yeah,I guess so." I said, smiling at her.

Emma started to talk to me about random stuffs, she told me about everyone, categorized by category, attractive boys, nerds and even the gossip girls to avoid.

"And the last category wich contains only one person, the damn hot and cold at the same time, second generation rich child James Thurston...You know the boy who is sitting behind you at the english class."

So he is called James. I better avoid this kind of boys.

They smell troubles.

I wasn't really interessed, I just smiled at her the whole time and listened to her long speeches until images suddendly started flashing.

NO NO NO NO PLEASE NOT AT SCHOOL.

"Run!" My mind screamed.

"Em...Emma..See ya..." I ran away,lefting her probably in a state of shock.

I slipped through the crowded halls quickly avoiding everyone and everything,darkness starting to submerge the erea. I want to get away from this crowd of people, as much as possible.

Thanks god, I am at least a fast runner.

"Don't you even know why?" An inner voice claimed.

"All you have been doing in your life is running from these demons"

SHUT UP.

Trying to escape, I must have run into several people. My feet are slipping in every direction, I am shaking like a leaf, I don't know where I am going.
I am screwed up.

It -or they- will soon catch up with me. What should I do?

I rolled my eyes searching for a loophole. I have to find a way to gain some time, hide somewhere and take my pills. I found nothing except an empty classroom.

Nevermind! I hurried up and get it, I hid under a table, crying into my knees.

My hands were shaking to death, I am barely able to open my bag, I am searching desperatly for my pills, I can't found them anywhere.

Oh my god. This must be a joke, I am sure I grab them in my bag with me this morning.

The sound of the door opening made me jump.

Tap..Tap..Tap..

I am hearing footsteps approchaing me second by second, making me cry harder. I hid my face back into my knees.

They found me.

"Hailey..." A soft voice echoed in the empty classroom.

That froze me... I can feel eyes on me.

"G-Go-away...Leave me alone...What do you want from me?"

"ARE YOU HAVING FUN TORTURING ME?" I yelled, breathing loudly.

Suddenly, a hand caught by the wrist.

I would not look. No matter what will happen, I would not look. I would definetly not look..

My chest is getting tight, my stomach rotten.

I would not...I would not...

I turned slowly my head, ready to block my face...
